I went to my car today to check a few things out so that I'll better understand the starting issues I'm having. Or had???
The car had been standing still for 2 weeks again after I drove it for about 20 minutes last time. The above picture shows the fuel filter before doing anything with my car. It looks pretty empty to me.
I then took the air cleaner off and pulled the throttle a few times to see if the carb would spray fuel in, which it did, 2 or 3 times and then nothing came out anymore.
Then I put the air cleaner back on and got in.
I started the car for about 7 seconds during which it never fired except just the moment when I turned the key to off... Pfffff.
I started a second time and it fired almost immediately. It ran a bit rough though and when I put the pedal down it would actually hold back. I'm thinking it was low on fuel still...
After about 10 seconds it started running smoother and it would also respond to opening the throttle properly again.
So... what's to learn here? I have no idea yet :-|
I also did some more work on my trunk. Getting pretty clean now.
