The new year's dinner

There was a beautiful moon hiding behind the smoke (which is actually steam...)

After work I went to Mulligans to meet up with friends. We were going to have a little new year's dinner and a wee drink :-)

There were Danny, Marjolein and Gerrit.

As well as me, Mic and Jos. Nice evening but you can tell we're getting old coz almost all of us left at 10PM ;-)

The old train (NS1202)

I left Simone's early as she went to work anyway and I was going to do some DIY at Marjolein's place today. Getting home to pick up tools was a nightmare. I think it was thanks to all these people walking here. My regular bus was too full and one even left me standing at the busstop. I was mighty pissed...

To top it all off, someone or something had pissed again and through my fence and it needed cleaning before it started smelling and getting sticky and all that. Disgusting.

At Marjolein's I hung up 6 frames containing bird's wings. It's kinda like collecting butterflies, just slightly bigger...

Also I hung up 2 hooks so she could enjoy her new hammock. The hooks seemed to be holding...

On the way back I spotted this old train.

It's an old Dutch Railways (NS) locomotive from the 12xx series.

Lovely train setup.

I was home only to have a shower and a small break. Then I went to Simone again to visit her neighbours for a birthday.

I can't remember ever having travelled by public transport so much...

The walk

I went for a walk in the Amsterdamse bos (Amsterdam forrest) with Simone and her kids. The weather was great.

In the evening Marjolein came over for dinner and afterwards we went to Mulligans. Jon, Alex and Kees were there as well. We laughed a lot :-)

There was a session as well. Some balkan musicians were attending, they were pretty good!

Eva came over in the evening. I made us pancakes. This was the first one I baked. I must've been thinking about someone special...

Reading this pub's cash register's most left column made me happy ;-)

In the evening Marjolein came over for dinner and then we went to Mulligans for halloween. She wasn't the only devil, Paddy was one too!

The Trivial Pursuit

My neighbours have made a little urban garden as well. Or maybe the city council did. It looks like a standard council garden. Hope they'll put nice plants in it.

I was flabbergasted when I entered my tram this morning. It was totally EMPTY! WHAT? Yes, empty! Holy mother Mary and baby Jesus!

This building has reopened in to something. Dunno in what, possibly a hotel. It looks great!

When I went home this busker was playing at the ferry. Wasn't bad actually.

Everybody who gave him any change was allowed to take a cd. In it was a little paper explaining about the Amsterdam city council's stupid regulations on electrically amplified busking. It is stupid indeed...

At home I had a quick shower and then Marjolein arrived and we walked to Ruud and Laurien to have awesome dinner and play some trivial pursuit. Marjolein likes their cats ;-)

40 years of Vincent

Chocolate caramel pie at work for my birthday. I turned 40 today.

Lots of colleagues came to collect a piece. These guys always show up: Geert, Guido, Wim and Norbert.

One of my pie's biggest little fans, Ilse. She's only little but she eats the biggest pieces, awesome, best customer ;-)

The outfit (Tee and glasses) was a gift from Tanja. Yeah, thanks! haha

I left work early coz I took the arvo off. There were 2 Egyptian geese with a baby. Baby was playing Superman.

I was meeting people pre-dinner in Mulligans. When I got there Nicole and Marjolein were waiting for me already. Lovely welcome :-)

Later Danny and Patricia joined as well.

We walked over to Wagamama at 18:30 according to my tight schedule.

Gerrit brought me a little bottle of whisky. I believe this is not a bad one!

Then it was off to the pub where I was surprised by my good friend Jan who rocked up all se way from Sjermany!

Jan, Nancy (= Jan's sister) and Mic. We had a very full table and when people left, others would come in and join us. I had a terrific night, especially because my girlfriend Simone dropped by for a bit as well. She looked fantastic. I was very happy to see her :-)

At 3AM Nancy and I were kicked out together with Ruud and Laurien who arrived after the pics were taken. I haven't been kicked out of the pub for a while ;-)

Danny gave me a comic that looks real cool! The tubs with chocolate goodies are from Nicole, whisky from Gerrit and a T-shirt from Mulligans. I keep telling people not to buy me a gift but some just can't resist ;-)
