The next Christmas dinner.

I woke up... At 10 o'clock :-)

Spent a few hours behind the computer.

Did laundry.

Prepared salads for a dinner with friends that night.

Took the tram to Nantko and saw a band on the way.

Danny and Kees digging in to (I believe) my salad.

Marjolein and Nantko. It was a lovely evening, even though the photos don't really show... Then again, everybody was busy eating hehe :-)

Christmas day.

My mom and dad during Christmas breakfast.

The birdhouse in their garden. Birds were coming and going.

In the evening I went back home by train. I waited at the inviting station of Alkmaar Noord...

Christmas eve.

On the day before Christmas a lot of people stay home. Hence public transport masses had more than halved which was delightful.

After work I went to my parents. They weren't home yet so I turned on the Christmas tree.

I found this note on the table.

It guided me to this :-)

My mom and dad always get a ridiculous amount of Christmas cards.

First things first. My sister and I used to fight over this glass. Just because it's a fantastic glass.

The bird.

There was a bird making noise at my work. I took a photo and then it left. Bye bye bird :-)

After work I had to go shopping in the big Albert Heijn in town. I bought chips on the way there and ate them while listening to a guy playing bagpipes. I gave him 10 bucks. Merry Christmas.

Our back door neighbours (and a great view)

When I came home I went to a snack bar. I had to look for one because I haven't been to any in my neighbourhood yet. It wasn't bad.

Germany - day 3.

I bought a little souvenir. Can't go to Germany and not buy a model train.

Then we had to drive home.

The roads were good.

Though there were a lot of 80 zones between Hamburg and Osnabruck.

Kees and Danny during a pitstop.

Me during the pitstop.

Things to make lunch with.

The views were nice again.

And then we came back in The Netherlands: Traffic jam galore. Welcome home, please line up.

Holland got a lot of snow as well.

It made for pretty pictures.

And vast white landscapes.

I also got a few more Christmas cards.

Germany - day 2.t

We went for a strawl through Buxtehude.

Lovely little town.

Danny and Kees roaming the streets of Buxtehude.

Lovely old buildings.

More lovely old building.

Kees and Danny on the train to Hamburg.

Station action.

Hamburg Hauptbahnhof.

Inside the main hall.

I loved this decoration in the main hall. It's awesome.

It was freezing cold in Hamburg and there was an eastern wind.

They go kinda crazy with the Christmas markets here. This was funny though.

More market in front of more awesome buildings...

And back to Buxtehude again. Leni and Renate spent the afternoon with us which was nice.

And then we were back in town again. We had dinner in a restaurant and warmed up again. In the evening I watched "Gute zwergen, slechte zwergen" on TV featuring Nina Hagen. She was fantastic.
