HALUCN8

The first thing I did this morning; picking up walnuts.

It was on my way getting the wheel barrow which I needed to collect 20 bricks to use in the garden.

We are putting barrel halves in the garden and we use the bricks as a little floor for them. Like this one.

While Nicole and Karin went to the Central Market to hunt groceries, I started sanding the old rusty wheel barrow that has been lying in this garden for as long as I can remember which is more then 7 years...

I gave it a good enough scrub.

Nicole and Karin soon returned from the market bringing home all sorts of nice food items.

Nicole mowed the lawn in the back (I'm planning doing the front tomorrow).

Mason was apparently under the impression that Nicole was pushing away the lawn mower that was attacking her and gave it a few good bites in the wheels. Luckily the wheels are made of hard plastic. Earlier Mason also tried to bite the wheel barrow I used for the bricks and a month ago he also bit into the big leaves-vacuum cleaner that I use to suck up the leaves in our garden. Every dog has it's funny habbit I guess...

In the afternoon we drove to Ikea looking for a washing basket. They didn't have a really nice one so we ended up with a plastic box instead. it will do. On the way out we spotted the giant hot dog ad.

An isle full of goods made everywhere in the world but all designed by Ikea in Sweden.

In the afternoon we also drove to Bunnings to get some wood and paint etc. This car was parked outside. Cool plate.

I bought a blue paint to paint the wheel barrow with. It's a bit of a try-out because blue ain't exactly a garden colour but I think it will look OK. When it's finished it will be on my Creative blog.

The Berliner doughnut

Passing the paddocks in North Adelaide on my way to work this morning. It was nice and sunny.

Rundle mall is still very quiet at this time in the morning.

I went to cafe Fresh for lunch together with my colleague Mark. I had a toasted Focaccia with ham and cheese. I like mixing Italian and Dutch cuisine hehe.

And on the way back to the office I bought a berliner doughnut. I call them this way because they're sold as doughnuts but they are actually berliners but with different fillings and toppings/ This one has a glace topping and inside is liquid caramel. I had it sit on my desk for 2 hours first and the smell alone was sen-sa-tional.
I think if you eat more than one per month it will give you a heart attack though...

In the afternoon 2 out of 4 holes in our ceiling were closed. If you look at the closed parts of the ceiling now you almost feel like you're in a proper office! ;-)

In the evening Nicole picked me up and we went to caffé Paesano to eat some Italian. It was delicious.

The photo booth

Today there are just a couple of photo booth shots of me and Nicole. Simply because I didn't make any more because I was too busy and there was nothing interesting going on. Enjoy.

The little pancake woman

Nicole joined me for lunch after her interview. We got Thai food from the place in the background. Their "Beef long bean" or something is really very good.

As a surprise she had secretly made me pancakes. Yuuuuuummmm!

Pretty yellow stickers

The start of a new week. It was actually quite a struggle to get the top half of this Joe in (it's 2 serves) because the coffee maker almost died on me...

Here is yours truly in his lazy-ass position..

For lunch I didn't go far. 2 shops down to be exact. There's a soup/salad place called "leaf & ladle". Very very VERY nice soup indeed. I tried the roasted vegetable soup today. I was lucky, there were only 2 people in front of me. usually the line-up goes all the way onto the street.

Cable guy was working again today. I see him pulling cables through our ceiling all day long (until 14:30) but I never see any wall sockets finished. I guess he's saving it all up for the big climax...

This pretty yellow sticker is on the door going into the stairwell.

Train - food - birds - flowers - train

After a second visit to Bunnings this morning to get new threaded steel rods (the first ones SUCKED) I drove us to Semaphore.

On the way we saw a gigantic ship being guided into the harbour and we stopped to have a look.

When we arrived at Semaphore we saw that the little steam train was operating well out of season. As we figured this must be especially for us we hopped on for a ride to the fort and back.

It drives along the beach.

At the end stop the locomotive has to turn around.

It's little but quite fast on it's own.

It's zooms past us...

... and it hooks up at the other end to pull us all the way back again.

There is a station but I wonder if anybody ever gets on or off here...

Back at Semaphore the same procedure is performed. Turning is done by hand.

The locomotive is called Bill. I wonder if the guy driving the loco is called "Ted"...

The anchor statue at Semaphore.

The seagulls at Semaphore.

Nicole at Semaphore.

When we came home I needed the big camera to take pictures for my other blog and I took a few snappies in the garden. Here's Ms. pigeon.

A little pink rose.

The same mandarins I posted yesterday or the day before but now photographed by a 'real' camera.

A big rose that Nicole featured on her blog recently.

Mr. Pigeon? You can never really tell...

Nicole made a delicious cottage pie tonight. Yuuuumm!

Most of my weekend was spent on making this: A model railroad spiral. It's a test before I start on the real thing. My trains (except a very little one) have no problems driving up this 3.8% incline so the test is very successful.
