I went to work around 9 o'clock this morning to finish a few things and to hopefully be able to test our software for Mondays demo. Dave, who's on the same project as I am, and Luke came in as well. I got lunch at the Indian place in the City Cross. I had Daal and a Samosa. I left around one in the afternoon. Dave and Luke stayed. I was not very satisfied because Dave and I had not been able to test our software properly.
While I was waiting for Nicole I took some shots of the street.
Some shot.
Looking in to the City Cross entry. The Indian place is actually on the left.
I told Dave to call me if he needed me for anything. At the end of the afternoon he called me about an error in my software. The perfect opportunity to go to work again! So I actually went to work TWICE. And this on a SATURDAY! :-) This is my desk. Getting some good mileage out of it recently hehe.
This is Dave. The error was actually OK because his computer was trying to connect to mine but that was turned off. In the end we managed to set our stuff up at the client and everything was fixed to run properly, which it did. Now that IS satisfying. So Dave and I left around 18:30 and now we can have a decent Sunday and relax a bit.

Work, work, work.
Yeah, at 7:15 already I was waiting for the bus. Nicole couldn't drive me today so I had to go on my own.
Waiting...
And there we go. More waiting inside the bus along the way as the bus was ahead of schedule. Can you believe it?
And then, after ten hours at the office I was waiting again. This time for Nic to pick me up.
We enjoyed a luxurious Mc. Donald's dinner.
I followed a link on Kees' blog who followed a link from Marion's blog about a rainbow describing me. This is the result.
In the evening I played one game of poker. The entry fee was $1.20 and you play against eight others. But I won and thus earned a rock-solid $4.50! I think Nicole can start thinking of what colour boat she wants...
Playing online poker requires a lot of patience (amongst other things). There was this Dutch kid tonight. Dutch kids play coz they're bored. Just like the German ones. They play very annoying and go "all-in" very often. I guess they want to show that they have balls. Unfortunately for them you play poker with your brains more :-)

Your rainbow is intensely shaded yellow, white, and brown.
What is says about you: You are a deep thinking person. You appreciate quiet moments. People depend on you to make them feel secure. You're good at getting people to like you.
Find the colors of your rainbow at spacefem.com.

Too friggin early but at least not too much overtime today...
That's right my little reader friends. I got to town at 7:38. That's so damn early it's not even funny.
I hadn't even had breakfast yet so I went off to Cibo at the corner.
They got nice things. I ordered a 'Rotolo' sandwich. That's a roll with Swiss cheese and ham from the oven. If you got good eyes you can see them at the left-top corner.
It was lunch time before I knew it. I wasn't feeling awake still so I went early, noon sharp.
Fountain was on.
When I left for home after work I saw Gianna at a bus stop in front of my office. She was actually at the wrong one hehe.

The elf.
This is the back-side of the church next to the one I sit next to when having lunch, sometimes. Got it?
When you have food, you have friends :-)
I couldn't do any overtime tonight. Poor me. I had to go play bowls so I took the bus.
The bus was being driven by an elf today.
The elf drove us over the O-bahn.
After bowls, which was a fun-night btw, not a competition night, we drove home.
Some people in our neighbourhood go pretty wild with Christmas decorations.

Mark's birthday
My colleague Mark had his 39th birthday today. He bought us all cheese cake which he prepared for us in the boardroom so we could sit at the table. I think he is the first person clever enough to actually think of the boardroom for this. Usually we stand around the coffee machine. I liked this better.
Unfortunately, with age come spastic photos. I also took a normal one but trust me, this one is better ;-)
The lunch fountain.
Santa has a private mailbox at Victoria Square where you can drop off your wish list.
I made another 10 hour day again but it was worth it. I made good progress.
I walked to Nicole through the park.
This is the corner of her office.
While driving home we saw this beauty in the back of a ute next to us.
Our friend Alie from Amsterdam sent us this beautiful Christmas card. Thank you Alie!
And my mum and dad's Christmas card has arrived as well. Thank you too! :-)
Our cards are on their way...

The turn around
I was not looking forward to today. For work reasons. Lots of things to do under high pressure with almost no margin for error. It started at 8 o'clock in the morning.
Outside it was still pretty quiet but I was already thinking hours ahead...
I needed to juggle 600MB of digital data around from Oracle to us and from us to the client. It took four hours. Something I had not anticipated. Not happy. I decided to go lunch while it was copying.
In Victoria Square a few aboriginal people were teaching others to play the didgeridoo. It was very nice and soothing to listen to and see. I'm interested in trying it out myself now. Let the aboriginal person in me take over :-)
It was hot. The Christmas tree is pointing right at the sun. You wonder if one day the tip will get soft due to the heat and flop down. That would be funny. It was quiet and peaceful in the park. Everything seemed to just go a little bit slower there and it calmed me down a lot.
Later in the afternoon I faced the next issue. I installed the Oracle client software on the client's computer. It's 150MB in size. That's very much for a bit of client software. But it still did NOT install the OLEDB driver that was required. After two hours with help from my colleague Dale I got it to work. I was very happy and even ecstatic once I had run my own made software smoothly as well. It was 18:40 by then.
Nicole left work late as well. We decided to get some Italian instead of going to PJ's. At cafe Paesano they had set up the CHRISTmas tree.

When doing our round of blogs we spotted our old place on Kees' blog. I actually think he doesn't even know it was ours hehe.

Skye
I thankfully slept in this morning so I feel a lot better today. I studied the whole morning and early afternoon. To do something nice still we drove up to the lookout point known as "Skye". This photo showed where my father walked OFF the path, ignoring all our warnings about snakes. When we were here with him four years ago the grass was a lot higher.
You have a pretty good view from here. You see all kinds of little people walking around too ;-)
When you look to the South you see this quarry.
Looking West towards the sea you look over the city. You can actually see a lot but you know, my shit camera...
Then we drove to Glenelg and then home again.
