Moving Alie

10:30, waiting for the tram to take me to Alie who's moving house today. Third time I'm moving her now.

Alie in her old garden (she lived here before) after a few loads of her stuff.

Marian came to bring lunch!

Severine, Alie, Gerrit and Alie's youngest brother. It was nice seeing Sevie again :-)

Marian and Sev. The lunch she had prepared was fantastic. Lots of different things including tomatoes and carrots. Yum!

Ruud, Sev's boyfriend. He was eating, sorry I didn't get a better picture ;-)

Shot across the Amstel river towards town during one of the walk backs to her old place.

Crowded...

I was in town again, looking for hanging folders for in my filing cabinet. They were nowhere to be found. I did however find new bonsai pots.

At Dam square some street artists had the biggest audience I have ever seen with any street artist...

In Mulligans I saw that Alie's coat was still there. It was probably obscured for her by a cloud of alcohol ;-) She doesn't live that far from the pub so I dropped it off at her place. her garden is stunning. She has totally "Alie-ed" the house now.

I then went back to Mulligans to eat my late lunch which was Asian take-away.

My stirfry.

Late morning I went to town. I was on a mission.

A mission to order my new computer! On the right the old 24" I used to have in Adelaide and on the left the new 27" iMac I now have on order.

I made a chicken stirfry for dinner. It was not bad for a first attempt.

In the evening I walked in to town. I said hello to this little lady.

I sat at the bar a bit at first.

Alie was there. She looked great and was full of "hopla hopla".

The band was OK.

And then I walked home again. All in all it was a nice evening :-)

The letter from Alie

Standing behind a car-truck on our way to work.

This is the branch I cut from the plum tree. There are "things" hanging off of the bottom that "could" be roots but I'm not sure. Time will tell.

We received a four pages, hand written letter from our Friend Alie in Amsterdam. Can someone please tell her a BIG THANKS from Nicole and me?

The leave

The rubbish people came early to pick up our stuff.
The last evidence of our presence there hanging above the abyss.
The statue of Berlage, the architect of a lot of buildings in our old neighbourhood.
Opposite of Mulligans. A nice row of typical Amsterdam houses.
Jon and Alie during a very nice dinner that Alie cooked us.
Romantic lighting in the train that brought us to Alkmaar late at night. We were exhausted.
