Dinner with Patricia and Martijn

I started baking around 9 this morning. Had a lot to do today and I had dinner guests in the evening. I started with the crust for the dessert pie.

When it had cooled a little I added the caramel.

Because it's going to snow tomorrow I really, really, REALLY wanted to finish my work bench today as well. So I put it together while the caramel was cooling.

Workbench ready. YAY!

Then it was time to add the chocolate layer. Everything went very well.

Mid afternoon I quickly dropped by Nic for a coffee (and coffee ONLY! ;-) ) and had a quick chat with Cristina as well.

Then late arvo I started preparing a few things and then when Patricia and Martijn came over dinner was ready soon. I made salmon with veggies (also caramelised carrot) and roast potatoes. I gotta say, it was very nice :-)

Beer colleagues

I do DIY. but my neighbours at work take DIY to a whole different level!

Around 16:30 I went up stairs to my colleagues there. They have beer ;-)

Always nice to hang out a bit.

The work bench try-out

On the ferry this morning.

A guy was feeding the ducks while waiting for the ferry home.

When I got home I immediately went to cut another piece for my work bench while it was still light.

I also re-potted a "stray" oak tree. I had to remove 30cm of the root. I hope he'll make it...

This is what my work bench will look like. Can't put it together inside though otherwise I can't get it through the back door ;-)

Patricia @ Cake Loves Coffee

I started working on my work bench today but I was so out of it from yesterday still that I only managed to get 2 sides of the frame done. In the picture you only see 1 side btw...

I met Patricia at Cake Loves Coffee where we had cakes and coffees and tea and apple juice and pizza. It was very nice to see her again! :-)
