The artyfart edition.

We were selling the car this morning still. People called today and they wanted to see it in the afternoon. I was busy working in the garden and had to interrupt my work to take the car for an emergency car wash.

It was worth it because late afternoon they called to say that they want to buy it. Deposit tomorrow, sign-over next week. I can sell cars now! :-)

I picked up Nicole after work and she then drove us to an art exhibition of a friend, Andrew. We were early and had a cappuccino while waiting at a incredibly nice looking little restaurant. Totally up-market. I'd have loved to go there, if only I had more time...

The girl and the car.

The exhibition.

This is one of Naomi's paintings. I thought they were nice roses. But the painting is actually called "Pink cabbage". Oh, and it's for sale for $3,200.00.

I quite liked the paintings displayed. Both artists paint very differently.

I particularly liked this one from Andrew. I believe it was called "Cocksure" and it's for sale for $1,650.00.

These little ones were also for sale. $410.00 a pop. I don't know about that...

After the exhibition we drove down to Henley. This time we went to Evida. I had pizza. Only 9".

We were table 18.

The stupid intersection

I went to pick up Nicole from work.

As I waited outside in the car it started to rain really hard.

We had a bit of a panic at this intersection. I turned right, according to the red arrow and then encountered another red traffic light (red circle). As we were unsure whether or not to continue I stopped the car at the imaginary stop-line (blue) and waited for the red light to turn green.

Google Street view is showing no "no right turn" sign from where I turned. Also the dotted line guides you around the corner. Furthermore there were right-turn arrows in my turning lane where the arrow had a 90 degree angle. So my manoeuvre must've been legal.

I probably looked pretty stupid and stopping your car on a main road like that is actually an offence. Luckily there was no one behind me. :-/

We drove down to Henley for a bite.

The water was very high. Actually I had never seen it this high here. When we left it was dark and the water was actually washing against the promenade!

We went to Evida. It was nice and warm and we met an old friend of Nicole, Jenny.

Tennis/clouds/switch

It was time for some sporty business again today. Stephen and I stepped on to the tennis court for some tennis action. Here you see me focussing on where to plant the ball in Steve's court.

Despite all my planning I found my game mediocre and I gave half of my games away in unforced errors. Incredibly frustrating. Steve won the one set match with a score of 7-5. At least we hopefully burned some fat today...

To celebrate that we can sweat for someone else's profit again tomorrow we went out for dinner. I drove us to Henley where we went to "Evida", an Italian restaurant/cafe that we discovered last weekend. On the way there the sky was set on fire by the setting sun. Stunning.

The place was nice, the food was nice and there were a LOT of people. Some kid had his christening and his mom turned 40. They were Italian. They were also rather loud. At one point my left ear actually starting making a noise of it's own. Thankfully only for half a minute. We still had a good time nevertheless.

When we came home I put a switch in the wire of the little christmas lights. It made Nicole very happy. I was thrilled as well.
