The prep

I prepped my trunk for painting. Most of the rust is gone and I cleaned out all the dust.
Think I'll give it a go tomorrow.

Bye Dustin!

I made another KIVA loan. Hopefully this will improve some people(s) situation somewhere... I like to think it does.

In the evening I had a farewell-dinner with colleagues. Our colleague Dustin is leaving the company and he will me missed, it's a nice guy.

Peanutbutteryoghurtbread

Simone made this kind of bread last night. The main ingedients are eggs, yoghurt and peanut butter. I took two slices to work and I loved it!

The start of winter

We should be feeling the start of spring at the moment but infact we are feeling the start of winter it seems. Stupid weather...

Windows 10 on my Eee PC 1000H

Weather was shit. Let's not waste anymore words on it...

At home I have this old Eee pc that I bought in 2008. It was still running Windows XP and even something simple as browsing the interwebs was becoming a really big pain in the ass.

I read somewhere that Windows 10 is able to run on older devices so I wanted to give that a shot. I grabbed my Windows 7 license key and downloaded Windows 10. I also downloaded a tool called Rufus with which you can make a bootable USB flash drive.

After creating the startup drive I started installing, which was a really smooth process.

The Eee pc (1000H) not being very fast with only 1GB of RAM took a while to finish the installation but it went well.

And voila, just before bedtime I had a clean installation of Windows 10 on my little laptop! And yes, it is somewhat faster than Windows XP and I can browse the interwebs again without getting frustrated! :-)

Sailing past

Friends of mine sailed past in the distance this morning. I read their message just in time but they thought I was still in the old building next to the water. But nevermind, that's why binoculars exist :-)

There they go, happily floating past :-)

Schiphol behind the scenes / The LEGO Mustang

I took a few pics of my soon-to-be working area... There hardly is any room to work though...

Yes, that shiny thing in the middle is what I need to remove and replace. It's the EGR valve which at certain conditions lets some exhaust fumes enter the engine to burn off bad fumes.
Well, it also makes my car run crap so I'm hopefully gonna put a stop to that... Don't know when yet though.

View from the top.

Late morning we went shopping. The only thing I bought was this LEGO Mustang.

I only found out that this is available yesterday. Love, love, love it :-)

In the afternoon the four of us went for a "Behind the scenes" tour of Amsterdam Schiphol airport. It was a fun thing to do.

The only downside was that we never got off the bus during the tour. Btw: that guy on the right is NOT me ;-)

We drove past these Kenyan air planes that had been sold to another airliner and were going to be repainted.

And past the area with private jets. This one belongs to the Dutch royal family.

View towards the Schiphol tower.

We saw airplanes taking off which was cool.

And we saw them coing down, which was also very cool!

And I saw a huge can of Heineken. It made me thirsty ;-)

After the tour we went up the panorama deck where there are always great views.

It was a lovely way to spent the afternoon together :-)
