The lock smith

I played lock smith today and learned a new DIY skill! Not one that's very hard but it's nice to have on the list ;-)

Nic trying out the 2 new locks I put in.

Back at my ranch I re-organised the plants in my garden so they fit better and I washed my windows.

I can now take pictures through the glass! My plants are still flowering. Nice.

Clean windows are good :-)

Going 'live'

Now this looks like a very appealing holiday destination!

I was waiting for my tram at 6AM. I had to go to a hole called Poortugaal, below Rotterdam.

One of our clients (a mental institution using the software I work on) was going 'live' today. As is normal when our software goes live somewhere, a small army of consultants and a few developers are there to guide the new users who now start working in the new 'system'. Which is ours :-)

Going back home with my colleague and squash-mate Paul and also Ira. The day went well. Getting up so early makes you very tired though...

Ira and I had dinner at the Schiphol Airport Burger King.

1500 ~ The request

Dear readers of my blog,

Today I post my 1500th blog post! I didn't even realize I had made that many until a few days ago. I don't know what or how to feel. It all started as a way for family and friends in The Netherlands to see how I would fare in Adelaide, sunny Australia, where I moved to at the end of 2007.
Fate decided otherwise however and I went back to the black and white movie called "The Netherlands" at the end of 2009.

My first post is from Monday October 29, 2007, more than 4 years ago today. It was my last working day before I moved and it feels so far away... Between then and now so much has happened that I wouldn't know where to start telling, if I wanted to. But really I don't have to because I made pictures every single day of my life from that day on.

"Only" 4 years of age, this blog is an invaluable part of my life showing my highest high and my lowest low. I have shared a lot of my life (up to a certain level ;-P ) with people whom I know and people whom I don't know because this blog can be viewed by anyone from all over the world.

Therefore I would like to ask you to leave a comment, letting me know who you are. Just a short comment that says who you are and where you come from. I would like to know who my readers are :-)

Thank you for reading or even keeping up with my blog. Let's do another 1500!

Yours truly,
Vincent.

PS: There ~is~ a picture of me having a shower outside in the garden somewhere but even I can't find it anymore... ;-)

foggy

Marjolein made an awesome photo that I made my background at home.

It was very foggy this morning. Couldn't even see across.

The neighbours needed some extra parking space today.

I spotted this place around the corner from me where a new cake shop will open soon. It has a very nice name I think :-)

The Colombian

I made orange juice.

And I ate a banana that came all the way from Colombia. I know somebody from there but I don't think he picked it for me.

The cottage pie

I made cottage pie again tonight. I need to experiment more with the flavour, it's too bland...

Shrek and Fiona

My new model train with a proper post wagon behind it.

Marjolein came over and we walked to Nicole's shop to have a look. The trees have beautiful colours at the moment.

We went to the Halloween party at Mulligans. It took some preparation but we managed to pull it off. We were Shrek and princess Fiona! We won first prize in the dress-up contest and we took 1 bottle of whiskey home each :-)

Gerrit and Nantko were there as well and we had a very nice evening!
