Sun set over Leidsegracht

It was great weather today so I had the windows open and cleaned. Fresh air! I also potted 2 little plants for Eva.

In the evening I walked in to town and shot this photo on the way there. I went to the cinema with my friends Ruud, Laurien, Mara and Remy. We watched The Hobbit 2. I liked it very much, better than the first Hobbit movie.

The dinner

Going to work.

Tonight I had a new year's dinner with all my colleagues.

Tim, Bjorn and Martin.

Sylvester, chirpy as always :-)

It was a fun evening!

The excitement

Life isn't always exciting. Sometimes a poster advertising bingo is the most exciting thing you see in a day...

The carburetor

I had the day off and went to my car in the afternoon. It was freezing cold but I really wanted to get to the serial number of my carburetor and also I wanted to remove the petrol hose and the petrol cut-off (little green thing in the middle) and replace all that with a new hose without cut-off.

I started by removing the fucking ugly air cleaner. It's not coming back!

And there it is, a 4 barrel Holley carburetor from I dunno when... Previous owners ripped out the choke-plate damnit. I was not pleased discovering that...

There is the serial I wanted to see. I need to know this in order to find out where the PCV port is...

I replaced the hose (little green thing is gone!) and mounted my new air cleaner. Does this look a hellofalot better or what?!

While I was working Simone and her little boy dropped by. I think he liked my car but he liked sliding on the sandy floor better ;-)

The conference

I was attending a conference of forensic mental health organised by the Dutch ministry of public safety and justice. This conference was about treating people for mental disorders by court order. The software that I work on can be (and is) used by a few mental hospitals.

I went there by train.

The location was pretty cool.

It was held in a converted old factory.

They left a lot of spaces looking very raw.

I liked.

I wonder what the spaces were used for when it was still a factory.

This was one of the more interesting talks. The host was telling about how he asked his patients before each session to rate how they were feeling about themselves, their surroundings, their place in society and in total. If the treatment is going well this should increase over time. If it doesn't, something's wrong with the treatment or the patient just can't be treated...

Nice conference!

Same place as the first picture but then 8 hours later on the way back.

I went straight to the pub where I met Mic. We had a pint and then went for shoarma! God that stuff is delish! Mic smiled for a photo by accident ;-)

Then we went back to the pub for more Guinness.

Alex came in as well. Sean was behind the bar and we had a lot of laughs together. It was a good night.

The interview

I met Remy, Mara and Patricia in town this afternoon. Mara wanted to pick our brains on the subject of "blogging". Mainly about the differences between professional blogs and hobby stuff (like mine). This was for a school project. It was fun and then we had a bit of lunch and a few beers and laughs. Pretty relaxing arvo.
