Curiosity killed the cat...

I went to Alkmaar today to get a few more things. While waiting for the tram birds flew over.

At the station.

In Alkmaar water was still frozen. There were even little patches of snow still. I hope this cat is not gonna find out that the ice melts as well...

After checking my stuff my mom and dad drove to A'dam with me.

My dad demonstrating the cross trainer. I'm very happy to have it back and will start using it again soon! (When I have a converter for the power plug.... )

I am also thrilled to have my drawers back. I love them and I love that I can clean up my mess now :-)

Totally certified and bonafide!

As of today I am a certified Dudeist priest and therefore you can now address me as Reverent if you wish.

I'm gonna take it easy now, if you'll excuse me.

Finally weekend...

Waiting for the tram on my way to work.

Waiting for my ferry on the way to work.

This bird died during the night from Monday to Tuesday. On Monday morning it was sitting in the grass, I knew it was dying, it must've been hit by a car. It knew it was gonna die. It was calm and it didn't panic even with me standing close to it. It was just waiting. So I left it. Later Monday afternoon when I went home somebody had put it on the bench. It was sitting there, alive, still. On Wednesday morning when I walked passed again it was like this, dead. Bye bye little bird.

Ships were being worked on next door.

Luuuuuunch (not mine).

I thought I had ordered only half a litre of milk but I was wrong *grin*

On the other side another ship was being unloaded.

After work I went home for some dinner and then I went to Mulligans. It was quiet when I arrived and Barry poured me a pint.

I met with Martje which was fun and a friend of hers who liked his iPod a lot ;-) She was kind enough to drop me off close to home :-)

The pipes.

Happy ferry people in the morning.

Now that the snow is all gone the guys can continue their roof repairs.

They do things with big pipes inhere...

It's going better!

Yes my dear reader friends, I'm feeling a lot better today but my right ear is so blocked that I can hardly hear anything. The worst part is when I speak myself, it sounds sooooo shit. And there is this beep as well. But I noticed that when my head is upside down, it gets a lot better, so there is just some stuff inside that needs to be removed. Preferably by my body itself and not by a doctor...

Finally.

I went to the mall early morning and a lot of crows were making a lot of noise in a tree.

The mall.

I practiced a lot of theory test for the Dutch driving license. The Dutch have a ridiculous set of rules, really. So far I passed 2 but failed 4. But I do know the failed questions now though. It was quite fun to do.

And then, finally after 3.5 months waiting, my stuff from Australia arrived. It's all there. Mostly undamaged. The piece that needed to be handled most carefully of all of course has a few scratches on it, my didgeridoo. Fortunately they are on the black top part and not in the pictures.
It took my dad, the two delivery guys and me 1.5 hours to get my stuff out and put it away mostly. That's nice. Not so nice is that I am still recovering from a severe cold and that I am now so exhausted that I actually feel ill... I wish I had cookies...

I am reunited with my beautiful didgeridoo again. I am really happy it's with me again, sorry it's not showing, I'm a bit pooped...

Cars, boats and trains.

The sky as I walked to work.

Unfortunately it didn't stay that way...

I took this photo for my colleague Bjorn who likes Mustangs. I like them a lot myself as well and this was just sad. It's a shit model anyway. I think they lost track in the Mustang-line at some stage but I think the last couple of years they been OK again.

The emblem.

Close to where my ferry docks Greenpeace's Sirius is docked. I don't think they are using it much these days... dunno why, it looks in fine condition.

A little ferry (not mine) and the Psycho Cowboy sub in the background.

In the afternoon I went to my folks in Alkmaar to get ready to receive my goods from Australia which were about to be delivered. This is an old train from the 1950's. Indestructible, there's still lots of them around.

A much newer ICE train. Nice rides.

In Alkmaar my bed was ready (Thanks mom!) :-)

There was still lots of ice today, really incredible slippery ice too...
