The canals

It was hot today and I went to get some asian food and a pint. Even my cool pint was sweating...

I took some photos on my way home.

Boat traffic.

This is the street (canal) I live on. I live in a proper house though, not a boat.

Insects are now visiting my flowers. I like :-)

A normal day, kinda.

This morning we had a three hour meeting with about six people of one of our clients. I think it went very well. Our efforts of the last week definitely paid off. We could show the whole system. Really it's a combination of five different pieces of software working together. It makes it rather complex.

When we came back to the office I went out for lunch.

It was almost unreal to sit there again. My brain is still a bit rest less.

I took a photo of myself and when I saw it I realized why people think I scare people. I don't mind. It's nice and quiet that way hehe.

I did make a better one. I hope this is less scary.

After work we went to PJ's. George the bartender got a new, better job which is awesome. Unfortunately it's not at PJ's and the Monday nights there will not be the same without him. We may actually stop going there which makes me sad a bit.

One year Vincent Mobile Blog

Today my blog is exactly ONE year old! That means there are 365 days of my life in pictures. That's a lot. I hope everybody is still enjoying reading up on my daily life. Sometimes I feel like it's becoming the same old now that I'm working etc. but I still enjoy making the photo's and putting them up here. I hope it's not getting too boring.

This link will show you the very first week of my blog, which was one of my last weeks in The Netherlands. All the way at the bottom is my very first post.

And now for today's REAL stars:

Early morning the bigger one of the two baby doves flew out of the nest, straight in to our Apricot tree. (You can click the photo for the big-ass version)

Mama dove (who just had her bath) was watching all of this with great interest.

The smaller baby dove wasn't sure yet. But while we were driving from work late afternoon, we were informed that early evening, this little one also flew out. Straight in to our walnut tree.

When we came home, the nest was empty. I hope we can see them tomorrow morning.

I discovered a new place for a nice, cool and quiet lunch. It's in a little passage next to a church. This was my view straight ahead.

View to the left.

I discovered I was sitting in front of this little round window and I had to think of Kees' Mandala-head photo (which I still think is absolutely magnificent!).

The view to the right.

After work I walked to PJ's where I had a pint until Nicole picked me up to go to the cinema. We saw "Burn after reading". Very entertaining and the actors get used in different roles than you normally see them. Nice story line too. Well done Coen brothers.

Kees: This is a more modern Ute. The one on yesterdays blog is a bit more useful I would think.

Elvis

In the food court next to my work there is of course also a Hungry Jacks (the rest of the world calls them Burger King). If you're interested to find out why it's called Hungry Jack's here, you may read this article on Wikipedia.

This is Cafe Fresh. I sometimes go here during lunch. The man on the left, behind the counter, is an Elvis imitator called Bruno. He's a cool dude.

Monday night is P.J's night :-)

Shiny balls

The coffee gods were good to me today. Or maybe it was because of the email my colleague sent out to everyone after my big coffee machine cleanup extravaganza. Who knows? It was ready to roll and it made me a good cuppa Joe too. Something probably goes very wrong next time...

The morning was miserable. A storm started right after Nic came back from the toilet at 4 AM. We feared mostly for the two cockies outside. We tried to give them shelter but it also increased the surface that the wind can blow on and thus it increases the risk of the cages to be blown over. Anyway, after 4 AM we didn't really sleep much also because a banging sound that reminded us of parts of a roof being ripped off somewhere. On top of that we had to get up at 6:45 because it was Nic's first day at work and they have an early meeting every Monday etc. etc. Whilst leaving the house I heard that banging sound again and went to investigate. It was created by two f&@*!ng lemons bigger than tennis balls banging against the metal plated fence. Beauty. On the way to work we even got some hail. It was all very unpleasant. By lunch time the sun was out again.

After work I walked to the pub again. As I passed the mall's balls I noticed the little lights below it. I've always wanted to see them on but it was never dark enough.

Aren't they pretty? They weren't always there we think. I can't remember seeing them before we arrived this time.

I was desperate for my fix of Magners Irish cider and ordered a bottle of it. It fits exactly one pint. Very exciting when pouring because you can pour it out fast and everybody who doesn't know will think you're gonna spill it hehe. Yes, I know, it's a dark photo. Maybe it will improve when I buy my iPhone... IF I buy one...

Driving through town on our way home. Pretty lights everywhere. It's very nice to have a drink and a meal after work.
