Debby's birthday party hardy

We were invited to Debby's birthday party today. It was fun. Met new and known people and a dog called Max. We played a lot of pool. Here's Richard taking a shot.

This is Max the beagle. Max likes cheese. Actually he likes almost anything...

On the left is Mel, Nic is taking a shot.

Gianna, Greg, Richard and Debby's mom during another fabulous BBQ cooked by Richard. I advised him to start doing this professionaly.

Richard, Tony and Gianna.

Time for cake! I actually missed the singing (good timing? ;-) coz I was at the loo...

Yours truely taking a shot (that actually went IN!).

The walk

I stayed home today while the rest was shopping (Well done eh, Kona? ;-)

So I took Mason for a walk. It was very windy, of course you can't really see that...

Mason and I didn't care much. He was sniffin'...

... and I was making photo's of things he sniffed.

For some reason I saw pretty flowers everywhere today. It was just one of those days I guess.

Check out the bark on this tree. I doubt Mason noticed it...

These little flowers were on the ground partly covered by leaves. Mason doesn't really see them. He steps right on them.

When I came home I decided it was time to fix my lamp. It only has an incredible clumsy switch deep inside the lampshade. Can't have that of course. Admire the result here.

The Bowls

I had a lazy day today. I played World of Warcraft mostly. In this game there is public transport too. And as in the real world, you have to wait for it, sometimes quite long.

And there it is! A beautiful Zeppelin. (It's a phantasy game, alright?!)

I also drove the car again today but as you understand it's kinda hard making pictures of yourself like that. Anyway, it went well. This time Nicole got away without any new injuries ;-)

In the evening I went to play Bowls with Richard, Daryl and Tony. They kindly invited me into their team and after tonight I decided I'm going to stay because it's a lot of fun :-)

Bowls (full name "lawn bowls") is kinda like jeu de boule but with funny balls that roll in a curve. The team with the ball closest to the "Jack" wins. The number of points for that team is the amount of balls they have closer to the jack than the closest one of the other team.

So, in this picture, the blue team has 2 points because it has 2 balls closer then the black teams closest.

The world

We had things to do today. I was literally dying for fruit and I wanted to return a book I bought coz it was apparently quite out of date which I didn't know (and couldn't know) when I bought it. So we went to the Borders book shop, which is here, opposite the mall's balls.
It was busy coz it was lunch time.

An AC/DC fan parked close by. I don't think it was one of the AC/DC guys themselves. Somehow I think they won't be driving Toyota Scarlets...

Next stop: The warehouse. We need tennis racquets and pronto. We got those now. $15. I wonder howmany hits I can have with mine hehe.

Oh yeah, these are the racquets we bought.

I then applied for 2 jobs, nothing to show about that. Instead I'll show the ingredients of the Nicole cooking action du jour.

Which resulted in this wonderful stir-fry. Rice + tons of vegetables and strips of very lean beef. It was fantastic.

Then we went to the beach and had a swim. Well, swim... I floated for about 20 minutes enjoying the waves.

Upon coming home I was so sick and tired of not having put up our world map that we did it right away. It hangs quite well above our bed, just like we had it in A'dam. This is how it's supposed to be.

The tennis match

It was very warm -again- today...

A cool change was coming they foretold us. I saw these clouds late morning. it is now 21:30 and it's still around 30C outside.

We went to Officeworks again to look for better printing paper and a large container.

Afterwards we went to the Finn MacCools Irish pub to have lunch.

The beer pumps were freezing cold.

They have beautiful lead glass windows. I particularly like this one ;-)

The whole interior is "in style".

The view from our booth towards the bar. It was nice and quiet AND smoke-free!

And then, there was tennis again. Here I am waiting for Karin to bring it on...

... which she did. She won our 1 set match by 6-3. Well done :-)

Soup

Nic made soup today. It was mega delicious.

I uploaded 2 creative blogs, vacuumed the leaves outside, worked on my CV and looked on the internet for job openings. Also I looked into something IT-related that after 2 hours appeared to be for nothing. At least I found out a few interesting things. It feels like a bit of an empty day today...
