The Alkmaar visit

Mid afternoon I took the train to Alkmaar. Gorgeous weather.

Somebody left a ferrari at the station.

My mum made apple pie and it was delicious.

My dad had to sing in the afternoon. He sings in a big all-male choir.

We had dinner together. Cassie blogging the blogger. Check Ilse's blog for more photo's of this event.

My sister Ilse holding the enveloped with names. We were drawing names today for Sinterklaas.

After dinner it was aparently time to watch the soccer.

I could think of other things to do instead of watching soccer.

Halloween 2009

My second parcel arrived from Australia. Customs had opened it but it was all cool. it had an insane ammount of stamps on it coz at the post office in Adelaide they had ordered a few too many stamps and they needed to get rid of them so they came in handy on my box.

My dad likes stamps a bit too much so great care had to be taken to remove the other stuff.

In it were very prescious glass paintings made by an aboriginal artist. I was very happy to see them again. They mean a lot to me. From left to right are depicted: A Barramundi, a roo and a platypuss.

My sister gave me back my grandma's plant. I love the plant but it has been standing in one position too long. I will have to straighten it out again...

Early evening mic picked me up and we went to Mulligans for the annual Halloween party. We walked over the flower market.

Kees and Nantko.

Mic, Alex, Barry and Cathelijne.

Danny and Petra. I hardly recognised Petra. It was only when she was like 50 cm away from me for about a minute that I recognised her. Very well done.

Kees and Danny.

Paddy and Marjolein.

It was actually a very nice evening, not as crowded and drunk as I thought it would get. It was great to see so many friends of mine in one place. I missed that in Australia. Bring on new years eve :-)

The band was good too. Young blokes but they played nice tunes.

It's Madness!

I bought Madness tickets this morning.

I had a job interview on the other side of the water in the afternoon. It went very well.

In the evening I had dinner with Collins, Kees and Anna. It was very nice to have dinner with them. Anna is not crying btw. She just doesn't like her photo taken...

I walked to Mulligans for a night cap. I *might* go to bed early tonight...

In the evening i went to Mulligans. I was very tired and the music wasn't the best...

CS

I went shopping in the morning. The sky was nice and blue with little clouds. Exactly how I like it to be.

In the evening I took the tram in to town.

I was meeting a new friend.

Except that I was 30 minutes early so I enjoyed the view over the water :-)

New shoes.

Late morning I walked in to town. I needed shoes and a jacket and a printer. Yes, I do not carry cheap shopping lists these days...

The Hobbemakade.

I like patterns.

Along the Hobbemakade they made lots of little artificial islands for the waterbirds.

The ceintuurbaan has beautiful colours right now.

My new jacket.

My new printer. They are cheap these days. Especially obsolete models.

And my new shoes. I'm going for a walk in Scotland in 1.5 weeks. I heard good shoes are a must...

The super socks.

I'm wearing my newest socks today (indoors only), very comfortable. They are knitted by my friend Danny and she did a pretty good job on em too! Thanks Danny :-)

I went out to the Kinkerstraat and bought nuts.

And cheese.

And a cutting board.

Walking home the bridge opened to let a ship through.

This was going to be turned in to dinner.

Cooking action. Siam chicken.

Eating action.

The Wagamama visit

Ilse and Cassie came over today and they brought me this awesome bonsai tree. I'm very happy with it as I want to start growing them.

After coffee we went in to town where I took them out for lunch. We walked to the giant chess...

Because that's where wagamama is!

It got a bit busy soon after we ordered.

Ilse and cassie experienced eating with chop sticks. They did well, especially Cas.

Placido is still working there. He recognised me and we had a little chat. It was fantastic to see him again.
