My first whisky

The first whisky ever that I bought for myself. I had some last weekend and liked it, almost a miracle. I hope the Dalwhinnie will like me too :-)

I went to town for a couple of things. I thought I'd have a look at the new Apple store. This is the glass staircase that's in all the stores around the world I believe. Nice.

It was incredibly busy. The place looked great but the merchandise was disappointing. I have a 27" iMac myself and will never have any other desktop system because I just love it. But really Apple sells 5 things: iPods, iPhones, iPads, iMacs and i... no, Macbook's. Oh, and server hardware but I didn't see any of that. Downstairs was for iPads and iMacs and upstairs was for iPods, iPhones and Macbooks and accessories.

There are about 100 iPads, 20 iMacs and 25 Macbooks on display. It's just more of the same where ever you look!

I'm OK with paying a lot for my iMac. But the accessories like headphones or loudspeaker systems for iPhones/iPods are incredibly overpriced.

There was also some kind of show.

One of my orchid's flowers has fully opened. It's beautiful.

I watched another episode of "Bottom". It was funny and it made me laugh.

While it was still sunny I painted my fence. 5 minutes after I was done it started pouring down with rain but the fence stayed dry thankfully.

The rain came from these clouds. Beautiful clouds but the rain was shit...

Then I got a text from Marjolein asking if I felt like coming out to the Uitmarkt. This is a cultural festival where you can try out shows of known and unknown bands, artists and the like.

We had a seat and a drink first.

Then we watched a famous Dutch band called "Van Dik Hout" which I had wanted to see for a long time. And now I have! :-)

There was also classical music.

On my way home, Carlos and Lindsay were playing at Leidseplein. Mind the little toilet bowl where you can donate, funny.

We walked through town a bit. I believe this is the smallest canal Amsterdam has.

Around noon a couple of Rainbow Lorikeets came by to feast on the fruit in our garden. They are stunningly beautifull birds but also very noisy.

In the afternoon we went into town. In Rundle street there was a market going on.

We had a small pizza for lunch at Scoozi's.

Carlos and Lindsey were playing in Rundle mall again.

The checkout line-up at Borders bookshop was UNREAL. It reminds me on the line-up for the Anne Frank house in Amsterdam a bit.

I bought my self a highly educational dvd about Mark "chopper" Read, the man famous for writing childrens books, amongst other things.

The move

At 8 o'clock this morning the securitybar guys made their delivery of 2 sets of bars. This one goes at the back but we have to paint the windowframe first.

The white cocky was watching all this.

And so was the red one. This cocky recently scared the crap out of the mattress delivery guy by the way by talking to him when walking past.

The bars mounted on our front window. It's a job well done and noone's going to come through that window anymore.

In the morning we started moving our stuff into the flat. We're going to sleep there for the first time tonight. This is the corner view, next to the bed.

This is our desk where my iMac is located now waiting eagerly for his companion: Nic's iMac...

In Rundle mall we ran into Carlos Vamos, a Dutch-Spanish guitar/stick player. We know Carlos from Amsterdam and to once more prove how small the world is we met him in Adelaide.

Funny enough we talked about Carlos with the other guitar/stick player we met in Rundle mall 2 days before, Andy Salvanos. Yesterday Andy left a message on Nicole's blog saying that Carlos was in town unexpectedly so we figured he'd be playing Rundle mall and indeed, he was! On Nicole Mobile Blog you can see more pictures about our meeting with Carlos and his mate Lindsay Buckland.

In the evening we went for a drive to the beach.
