Today I found out that my friend Patricia works in the building on the other side of the high way. She's in the red circle somewhere. Funny :-)

The Haasje Klaas Klup

This morning I picked up the trophy for my squash tournament at work. I had the 2014 winner's name engraved in it. Next year is already the fifth edition. Super :-)

In the evening Simone and I had dinner with friends. We formed the Haasje Klaas Klup which is a gang of 8 (4 ex colleagues and their partners) and we have dinner a couple of times a year. Usually at a restaurant called Heasje Cleas in Amsterdam but sometimes elsewhere.

Last night we went to HC and it was a fun evening! :-)

The interview

I met Remy, Mara and Patricia in town this afternoon. Mara wanted to pick our brains on the subject of "blogging". Mainly about the differences between professional blogs and hobby stuff (like mine). This was for a school project. It was fun and then we had a bit of lunch and a few beers and laughs. Pretty relaxing arvo.

Captain Mara

A secret society known as the "Haasje Klaas Klup" a.k.a. HKK, gathered again tonight, in their "clubhouse" which is restaurant "Haesje Claes". Members have to be linked to the IT firm Furore and are allowed to bring 1 partner. So here's my ex-colleague Mara and her boyfriend Remy.

40 years of Vincent

Chocolate caramel pie at work for my birthday. I turned 40 today.

Lots of colleagues came to collect a piece. These guys always show up: Geert, Guido, Wim and Norbert.

One of my pie's biggest little fans, Ilse. She's only little but she eats the biggest pieces, awesome, best customer ;-)

The outfit (Tee and glasses) was a gift from Tanja. Yeah, thanks! haha

I left work early coz I took the arvo off. There were 2 Egyptian geese with a baby. Baby was playing Superman.

I was meeting people pre-dinner in Mulligans. When I got there Nicole and Marjolein were waiting for me already. Lovely welcome :-)

Then it was off to the pub where I was surprised by my good friend Jan who rocked up all se way from Sjermany!

Jan, Nancy (= Jan's sister) and Mic. We had a very full table and when people left, others would come in and join us. I had a terrific night, especially because my girlfriend Simone dropped by for a bit as well. She looked fantastic. I was very happy to see her :-)

At 3AM Nancy and I were kicked out together with Ruud and Laurien who arrived after the pics were taken. I haven't been kicked out of the pub for a while ;-)

Danny gave me a comic that looks real cool! The tubs with chocolate goodies are from Nicole, whisky from Gerrit and a T-shirt from Mulligans. I keep telling people not to buy me a gift but some just can't resist ;-)

I started baking around 9 this morning. Had a lot to do today and I had dinner guests in the evening. I started with the crust for the dessert pie.

When it had cooled a little I added the caramel.

Because it's going to snow tomorrow I really, really, REALLY wanted to finish my work bench today as well. So I put it together while the caramel was cooling.

Then it was time to add the chocolate layer. Everything went very well.

Mid afternoon I quickly dropped by Nic for a coffee (and coffee ONLY! ;-) ) and had a quick chat with Cristina as well.

Then late arvo I started preparing a few things and then when Patricia and Martijn came over dinner was ready soon. I made salmon with veggies (also caramelised carrot) and roast potatoes. I gotta say, it was very nice :-)
