ANTS!

Ants. Loads of ants. Without wings.... and with. They wanted to fly out today. I panicked. Eileen stayed cool and ordered me to get spray first. So I bought spray and 3 other chemical warfare attributes. We won. The ants lost. It caused a lot of stress though...

Waiting for the tram to get to Central Station. It didn't come due to some accident.

We went to IKEA for a few small things.

The Frets in HQ.

Eileen and I had breakfast at the Vlaamsche broodhuys again this morning. They finally had croissants but they were disappointing. Somehow this place had gigantic potential but it's just not coming out. Why don't I have the money to start a place like this?...

My orchid is in full bloom now. It's beautiful.

Saw this bike outside a bike shop. The name of the bike is "Paddy wagon". Funny.

In the evening we went to Mulligans. A band called "The Frets" was playing there.

They walked through the pub quite a few times, they even played outside which was very funny.

With improvised background vocals from the audience.

Pat on the table.

Dave serenading Eileen ;-)

And Pat behind the bar.

This was the most entertaining band I have ever seen playing in Mulligans. It was all folk-ish but they still managed to play Cindy Lauper as well. I loved it. And they were genuinely very funny too. In a Robin Williams kind of way.

It's a plane!

I needed a coke to stay awake. I doubt it worked...

In the evening I went to Schiphol airport to pick up Eileen. I had to wait a while so I went up the panorama deck.

The sign.

"Ze noemen mij een vandalist maar als een ieder toch eens wist, wat het is om in noord te wonen". Translation: "They call me a vandal but if they only had a clue about what it is like to live in the North".

This sign has been here since the weekend I believe. It's a protest from someone who lives in Amsterdam North which has a reputation of being incredibly boring for youth. Not many people want to live there for this very reason but also because they are afraid of feeling disconnected with the city of Amsterdam because it's separated by water.

Today we had elections in The Netherlands. I voted too. I am always very happy to vote. People died so that I could vote you know...

Elections, birds, cranes and a cat.

Tomorrow we get to vote for a new government. Very exciting. I'm voting for the lady on the right, a left-green party.

The neighbours were juggling boats around a bit.

Just before it was time to go home it started pouring down really hard.

Father bird was ready to defend his young from me. he made a funny clack sound with that.

My colleague Bjorn showed me this today. I like.

The return of the Choppermeister d'luxe.

Crane action on my way to walk. There are always cranes somewhere it seems...

More crane action! But actually pretty cool action because these cranes FLOAT around a gigantic ship and three smaller ships come aside and take it's load. Very inventive and you can play "harbour" everywhere with floating cranes! I was impressed.

Walking to the ferry I walked behind this thing... She probably thinks she's got the most gorgeous hair in the world but it's not.

It was filthy and disgusting and glued together. I think I saw a dead mouse in it too. Trapped behind bars of hardened, glued together hair... You can just see it's little head. Can you see it?

The Psycho cowboy.

Another gigantic cruise ship came in today. I never knew there are this many cruise ships that dock in Amsterdam.

I brought the Choppermeister d'luxe back to life tonight. It just needs a bit of air in the tyres now and it's good to go again.
