The Rust-oleum

Pony time! I wanted to treat some places with rust today. I started sanding and found a few little ones more. It's mainly above the right-rear wheel. Nothing too serious but it's been done before and not in a great way I think.

I actually managed to find some rust-oleum which I was happy with because a lot of people swear this is the best for treating rust. OK! I'll give it a shot.

I taped two areas. One inner area used for spraying the primer and an outer area used for spraying the paint.

Newspaper time...

I applied the rust-oleum which needs to dry for at least 4 hours. I'll go back tomorrow maybe to start spraying. Also I noticed I forgot to put newspaper of the area on the right...

The mystery gift

I finally got around to printing my cocktail drawing. It's a technical drawing describing lots of cocktails and how much of which ingredients to put in. It's fun and nice decoration.

It quickly drew attention ;-)

When I walked home I saw that the NDSM crane was being put back in place again. I'm happy about that because first I thought they demolished it. It's an iconic crane for the area you see...

When I got home somebody had left something for me on the stairs. A surprise!

Looks like a bottle to me!

SCORE! But there was no note, nothing so I have no clue who put it there... But it made my week, that's for sure :-) Thank you mystery person!

Halloween 2013

I quickly shot this photo while walking to the tram stop. I like it.

In the evening Marjolein came over for dinner and then we went to Mulligans for halloween. She wasn't the only devil, Paddy was one too!

Miriam.

Barry.

Yours truly.

Kees.

Petra.

Jos and Danny.

Martijn and Patricia.

All of us.

And Alex was there as well.

The light

Wester church on my way to work.

Waiting for the ferry.

The sun made a beautiful light on my way home.

Back to the 70's

I played squash with Mic. He smashed a ball in my face, 2cm underneath my right eye, but I beat him 5-1 anyway, leaving him behind disillusioned...

My friend Jan sent me this picture from way past. It was his wedding party in Germany. 70's theme. Pity I didn't have my Mustang then ;-)

I love the photo!

The apocalypse is coming! ;-)

Awesome skies this morning. The weather forecast was grim. They promised storm.

So the storm came. Not so much rain but mostly really strong wind. In some places we later heard it was hurricane strength... This tree in front of my window at work was having a hard time.

And even harder still.

And then it disappeared.

But then we found it again. On top of my colleagues car!

I always get a bit sad when a tree dies. Trees take so long to grow so big and they make us oxygen...

This tree seemed to have a little problem. It didn't look very well at the bottom anymore. I guess it's a bit of natural selection, but still...

Then I heard about one of the Ocean Diva's that had gone adrift. I naturally went to investigate.

It was the one that looks like a Starship from the TV show "Star Trek".

It was bumping against one of the walkways of the marina that was recently build.

I think most damage was actually done to the other Ocean Diva that was behind it.

The wind also blew away some scaffolding. Thing is... there's a parking lot underneath...

My mom sent me this photo of my dad. I had to laugh so hard because she made him post next to the tree. Apart from this making me laugh, it also made me sad because it was a very tall tree :-/

I moved some stuff around and was able to move more things from the kitchen (not kitchen stuff in it though!) in to the living room where it belongs. It makes the living room look less cluttered and my kitchen is quite empty now :-)

Removing some rust

I went to my car this afternoon. I tried to take out the other taillight but it was bloody stuck. I think some douche glued it together :-(

To use my time I started sanding away some rusty spots. The one above was potentially bad but it wasn't.

This was just a tiny bit.

This one was potentially bad as well but also was no biggie.

I asked my garage-lord if I could borrow his trailer in the future when I want to take my car to Jan in Germany. He said that he's OK with that provided he doesn't need it of course. Nice garage-lord!
