Moving house, part 2.

Good morning, time to move house!

My sister Ilse in the moving van.

I was following her with my folks.

Ilse, dad, Cassie and Mic. We had just moved in the couch. That thing is SOOO heavy!

After delivering all the things that were stored at my parents, we drove to my old place to pick up everything from there.

I thought it was a good idea (and it was!) to put together my bed first.

When the sun is out it's really nice to sit out at the front in the sun.

Me, Cassie and Ilse very tired on our way to IKEA. Moving stuff from two locations wasn't enough. Since we had the van it was handy to go to IKEA as well, since they're open late anyway.

We had dinner at IKEA before we started shopping but on our way back we went to McDonalds for desert. So what? :-P

After dropping everything off, Ilse and Cassie left and I started putting the first things together starting with a desk.

The mess in my living room.

The mess in my kitchen. Good night now!

Moving house, part 1.

Because yesterday I forgot to bring back my drill (I thought I was gonna need it - later it seemed I actually did not!) and I was gonna have a busy day I went to my new place at 6:45AM to pick it up...

I prepared my old place for moving in the morning and in the afternoon I went to the new place with my mom and dad. We prepared the place for moving in.

Early evening we had enough and we drove home. Typical Dutch scenery along the way.

The shopping mall close to my parents' house.

Early evening my mom drove Ilse and me to the rental place where we were going to pick up the moving van.

More typical Dutch scenery. Nice picture actually.

I needed to test my TV connection so I bought a new TV.

First bits of work in my new place!

Finally. I finished this bloody game on my phone. For months I have been trying to crack the last level and finally today, while waiting in the hospital, I did it. I have now removed it from my phone.

Early evening my mom and dad picked me up and we went to my new apartment. This will be my living "room" (it's a studio so everything is one space really).

That will be my bedroom. The spots at the bottom of the back wall are places where shit has been injected in to the wall to stop water from creeping up.

That's the kitchen. It's basically OK but I want to replace the bench top.

My mom and dad brought a bottle of nice bubbles to toast at my new place. Lovely of them :-)

We then proceeded to do what we're all good at. My mom started cleaning.

My dad took aweful looking furniture apart.

I ordered pizza.

This lamp was left, I like it a lot. I'm gonna keep it.

Today is world M.S. day.

We need more advertising!

On my way to inspect my new house I saw these two swans flirting.

Walking in to my new street.

After the inspection we went to the notary to sign the piles of paperwork required when buying a house.

Afterwards I went to Wagamama. I was all by myself there.

Except for Placido my favourite waiter there. He was singing. Awesome dude.

After spending a few hours at my new place thinking of a plan to make the place as livable as possible in 2 days I went to Mulligans.

This pint was for Eileen.

It was all about world M.S. (Multiple Sclerosis) day tonight and creating awareness. One of the musicians that plays there had the official launch of his song about M.S. which we all watched.

Mark was on TV!

A few of Mulligans finest house-musicians played. These are the Elastics.

Miriam and Daithi dancing behind the bar.

Mark Gilligan on the left, then Danny Guinan and Siard de Jong.

The last songs were done by all musicians together. It was a very nice evening with lovely people.

The black bird.

This lovely little bird was sitting on a bicycle as I walked to my tram stop in the morning. It was rather noisy trying to make me go away but it didn't drop its precious catch of little leaves and possibly a few little worms or something.

From the ferry on my way back after work. Police and harbour people had cornered off a part of the water where a large crane-ship was going to dig something up from the water. I wonder what it was...

The orchid my mum gave me is going very well!

Dinner with Nicole.

I had dinner with Nic, who had just returned from Germany.

For desert we went to another side of Rembrandt square; to Hotel Schiller.

I ordered death by chocolate, a chocolate mouse tower. I was not able to finish it...

The lamb tikka masala

One of my neighbours had been having his/her washing hanging outside for about two weeks now. I think its dry by now but yeah... I dunno.

I cooked a lamb tikka masala tonight. It will also make two lunches this week. Good stuff.

Tomorrow is a bank holiday here. I'm very much looking forward to that.
