My new plants

Ilse chauffeured Marjolein, myself and Cassie to a garden centre.

I bought plants and other stuff to make a little garden at the front of my house. The "stuff" part will be delivered on Wednesday so hopefully I can finish the garden next weekend already! :-)

Late arvo we walked in to town for dinner.

Dessert was at Haagen-Dazs.

Spotted this cat on the way home again.

The drilling

There was construction going on at work. They're making new stairs to our front door. Of course you have to remove the old ones first...

My colleague Geert bought a replica of an old map of Leiden. It looked nice. And now I have a replica of the replica :-)

Construction on my way home.

The Nile-geese family now has 10 out of 13 youngsters left...

The rain

It was pissing down this morning. I thought I would be alright. I was wrong.

I had my super umbrella with me but as rain starts to become more horizontal the brolly becomes more useless. My socks spent the day drying on Sylverster's chair. I wonder if he reads this. I'm sure I'll find out if he does *grin*

Still 12.

The DIY day

I wanted to put my new IKEA shoe-cupboard together and hack it. This is how it started. Well, actually it started yesterday when I drilled the holes in the cupboard door at my folks' place...

There was measuring involved.

And of course some drilling. No DIY without power tools!

This is what IKEA wants it to look like.

But I added handles and...

... I hacked it! The BISSA shoe cupboard comes with TWO drawers for shoes but I don't have that many pairs so I converted the top drawer to a shelve with a door!

A job very well done if I may say so.

Cake and DIY

I traveled to Alkmaar today to visit the family. A VW van was parked in my street with a Facebook "like" sticker on it. I thought it was funny.

Waiting for my train.

There was cake and coffee. Been a while since I had this kinda cake.

I had to drill a few holes so that I can put a cupboard together tomorrow.

Operation "Drill holes" was a success.

When I came downstairs again I was greeted by the biggest most gigantic prawn crackers I had ever seen.

At 21:35 I took the train back home. I noticed a seagull sitting in a rather unusual place...
