The seating corner

I put the other chair such that I can put my feet on it, very comfy. I bought a coax cable today so I can now officially watch TV again.

I had to go out to the supermarket again since I am utterly un-able to get everything at once... This is a house at the end of my street. It looks nice.

I found these crisps in the supermarket that I also had in Scotland. They are very nice.

I set up my new TV (comes with the house)

From bad to good

Me early morning. I went to see the doctor. I have tonsillitis. Actually had it all week. The paracetamol I was advised to take by the assistant I spoke over the phone earlier this week wasn't quite cutting it. I now have antibiotics to take for 4 more days. I only took two pills and I already have 50% less pain. Right now I also don't feel very tired and I'll go to bed normal time (past midnight). Hopefully I can have a good night sleep.

After the doctor I walked to the bakery to get some croissants. I was also seduced by a piece of apple pie. It was cold and soft, I like.

For lunch I cooked chicken Siam. Lotsa vitamins there. It was a bit rough to eat due to my throat but I was happy I did.

In the evening I assembled the IKEA TV cupboards I bought yesterday. I also assembled the TV but then I found out there is no coax cable so I still can't see anything...

The Red Brigade strikes again!

I had a very juicy pear late morning to go with my paracetamol.

My parents came over to take me to Ikea where I wanted to get two TV tables. My dad likes to wonder off...

And so does my mom.

We then had a late lunch there. The swedish meatballs were not as good as the ones in Adelaide I have to say. The fact that swallowing is painful for me of course didn't help me enjoying the food much...

The Red Brigade strikes again.

The last Star Trek.

First thing on my to-do list today was to enlist with a doctor again. Especially since i am not feeling well these days. I have a bit of a throat issue. It's not getting worse really but it's also not improving. Although I think the fever is coming down slightly. I had more hot flushes yesterday.

Anyway, I took this photo for the second last paragraph which tells you to STAY AT HOME WHEN YOU ARE SICK! I have had many colleagues who think it's great to go to work and infect all their co-workers. I can't stand that shit.

Then I was off to the supermarket. Hey ho!

I scored a nice little bonus; the newest Star Trek movie on dvd. Now I just need to unpack my TV...

And heaven was close today. I found a hardware store even closer than the supermarket. Tools, power tools, electronics, wood, oh.... mmmmmh. Pity they don't sell milk.

The weather was just gorgeous darling, just gorgeous. Not.

I bought chocolates coz I felt crap and needed it. Period. They made me happy.

I then watched the final episode of the last season of Star Trek The Next Generation.

Geordy could see (but only in one of the time lines of course ;-).

Data was a professor at Cambridge.

And Picard was an old man.

Afterwards the weather had only gotten worse.

I found this special edition two Euro coin today. One for my treasure chest.

Turkish sweets (kataifi)

I passed the turkish shop today and could not resist buying two of these guys. I can't remember what they are called but they are super sweet and super juicy and I love them. I should never buy them again though hehe.

When you bite in to them the sweet juice just comes dripping right out...

To town

I went to town quickly in the afternoon.

The floor at the tram stop.

Tram.

The weather was gorgeous. Clear blue sky (for Dutch understandings).

The return

Leaving Edinburgh in the morning. I was being dropped off at the airport for my flight home. After a fantastic week this was not a fun happening.

I had an emergency exit seat with lots of leg room. I could actually stretch my legs.

Flying over English mainland.

Clouds above the North sea.

And then going down in The Netherlands again.

Amsterdam Sloterdijk is THE most depressing station in the whole entire world. No, galaxy.

In the evening I went to Mulligans. I picked up some chips along the way.

My week in a few pictures.

So I went to Scotland for a week to meet up with a special friend.

Starting point: Edinburgh.

From there we drove to Skye. On the way I found out where Australian city names come from.

Also suburb names. I used to live in Blair Athol.

Sheep rule the roads on Skye.

We rented a cottage. This was the view from the drive way. It was in the middle of nowhere. Mobile phones had no reception and internet was non-existant. Very good.

We walked a fair bit. Lovely views, like this one.

Or this one.

Sheep were always watching us.

Of course there are ruins of old churches and the like. I found this on a grave stone and I love it.

On the morning we drovve back to Edinburgh we spotted seals in the loch. We changed shoes and ran over to make photos. The seals were very curious and came close to see what we were up to. Wonderful experience.

Along the way we saw mountains with snowy tops.
