I walked in town today and I ran into these gable stones.

There were a lot!

Even more around the corner...

And one is from Alkmaar!
I went shopping for pants. Desperately needed new ones. Took ages. Hate clothes shopping. I deserved a few pints afterwards. Cider is the drink of choice in the summer!
Blue skies. Welcome back. Please stay longer than 1 week this year...

Swarms of tourists everywhere...
I hung up my tamburitza as well now. Looks quite nice. I have to replace the string but first I have to figure out the tuning...

Bye bye Occupy Amsterdam
The Westerkerk in the bright morning sunshine.
The line-up at the breakfast place was pretty absurd. It wasn't even for free...
Last glance of Occupy Amsterdam. They gotta move tomorrow morning. Mayor's orders.

The f@#$%^& tram
Nearly every single morning, my tram drives past me 50 metres before I reach the tram stop. I refuse to run for it. Time doesn't seem to matter. Whether I'm 3 minutes early or late, this shit happens all the time. Unreal.
Nice soft light on the ferry this morning.

In the evening I went to Mic's for dinner and to play squash after.
Noortje is proving to be a fast learner. She's a bright little girl.
Squash didn't go very well. After 5 minutes of playing I ran in to the wall really hard and bruised 2 ribs. Game over.

The "Sound ring"
I took the afternoon off to accompany Marjolein to the hospital. It also gave me some time to do some banking and to have another look at the new Apple store without the crowd. Some of the stuff is ridiculously overpriced. This "sound ring" (which is basically just a loudspeaker for your iPod/iPhone) costs 359 euros. I have to add that it's not made by Apple. And hence it's not Apple setting the price...
Hotel American.
After the hospital visit we had a drink in the sun at the Nieuwmarkt.
After dinner at Haasje Claes we had a few more drinks at Schiller.

Oma's plant
The construction of the new courthouse is coming along nicely.
In the evening I was cooking and drilling holes at the same time.
I hung up one of my guitars.
Also I re-planted grandma's plant. It's doing well so far.

The IJmuiden pier

Marjolein and I went to IJmuiden to check out the pier. The weather was shit.

Looking back from about 2/3rd.

The pier's light house.

Light house poetry. I like it. It's short, clear, simple and powerful.

Over exposed light house.

Leaving the light house.

My sunshine :-)

The wind picked up while we were there. Thankfully the rain has stopped.
