The chauffeur

Lady Nicole had a chauffeur today. I drove her around the shops.

Woolies first. Because tomorrow is Easter it was very busy.

Then we drove to some chinese shop hunting for cous cous. I waited in the car enjoying this stunning view.

Because there was no cous cous we drove to the Junction Market. It's a bit of a hole that hasn't seen any maintenance since the 70's I think. It has an awesome Buck Rogers pinball machine though.

It's clearly that they target a certain demographic here. Aparently they like really big pots...

...and religious figures.

Still no cous cous so I dropped Nicole off at the Afgan grocery store. They didn't have any either so we ended up at a Coles supermarket at the end of Prospect Road and hurray! Cous cous at last. And of course 40 minutes driving pour moi :-)

Then I walked Mason a bit coz I reckon he's getting bored here. He tried luring me into the park as usual.

At the curbs Mason knows to stop and sit down. He was looking up at me so I quickly wanted to snap a piccie. Of course he looks down right away.

I called him in an attempt to look up but he didn't.

I tried again but he just kept looking ahead, little bastard.

The view was atomic to say the least...

The drive.

I drove through town today and then to the beach and back home.

Total driving time: 1:45. Not bad.

In the afternoon we went for a small walk with mason. Afterwards I always kick the ball for him a bit.

My kinda store!

I forgot to post this picture yesterday. It's a twin shopping trolley! It's the SUV's amongst the trolleys I tell ya. This beast is BIG.

In the morning we went to a store called Paramount Browns. As you can see by the sign, it's -my- kinda shop.

When we came home we walked Mason. Nicole likes different things than I do.

Mason doesn't like anything else but being patted or walked really...

We have two extra guests this weekend. We're caring for Karin's 2 love birds. They are incredibly beautiful and you can only keep these in pairs. The boy and the girl are always together.

The Kees smurf

This is a special edition of my blog.

A few smurfs ago my friend Kees smurfed a smurf photo of yours truly on smurfnet. You can see this here.

Today it's payback time! In Nicole's smurf collection we found:

THE KEES SMURF:

It's even without a beard!

Kermit.

Our first target was Target. It was busy coz everyone has to get shopping before easter.

We saw Kermit the frog's car in the parking lot. Didn't see Kermie himself unfortunately...

Then it was off to the modeltrain shop to pick up a reletively new Roco catalog.

The owner of this place, Graham, is most helpful. He is going to get my business when I have the money.

When we came home I took Mason for a walk. He actually did a crap today, unfortunately -after- we passed the bloody field I talked about yesterday so I had to carry the stink-bag all the way home. And god it stank... Karin, what are you feeding him?! It was also a bit soft. I prefer a bit harder for picking up please...

Snif snif snif.

Someone's building a house (or just half?) out of metal construction material. It's being advertised on the tellie for people who are afraid of termites.

Henley beach

Today the temperature has dropped by about 10 degrees so I could walk Mason again. And boy was he happy to go.

There is this park that we walk past. He must associate such an open space with ball-play-time. Unfortunately for him it isn't the oval where Karin and Gavin take him. He always pauses at the gate in an attempt to lure me in. The only time we go in there is if I have a full bag of kaka by then that needs to be dumped and this field has the only bin on the route...

Mason doesn't care about this at all.

He sniffs and I look at the sky...

Ceasar was there again today, he was a very good boy too. Not one single bark.

In the afternoon I received a draft contract from my soon-to-be employer. As this means the end of doing interviews I was ready to celebrate so we went to Henley for some good ol' fsh n chps. I made pictures out of the car which turned out quite unexpected...

I know it's been hot the past 2 weeks but this hot...

At the beach it was nice and cool. We are happy to see those clouds. I better clean out the gutter tomorrow before we get rain. We don't get much usually but when we do... whoa.

Clouds over Henley square.

Nic staring into the distance.

We ate our fish and chips at the square. We always have lots of very good friends there (for about 15 minutes ;-)

And then we watched a bit of sunset whilst contemplating life on this side of the planet.

The St. Patricks Day

In the morning I let Mason in to cool down a bit. Temperatures reached 40.5C today. You can't really leave your pet outside in this kind of weather.

He likes to lie down under our desk. Why do dogs prefer to lie close to your feet and not next to your chair?

We went into town around noon to go to the cinema. We saw the new Coen Brothers movie called "No country for old men". It was very nice but the end was a bit too abrupt I think. According to Nicole this was totally in the spirit of the novel that the movie was based on. Illiterate as I am I wouldn't be able to tell... Anyway, I took this and the following two photo's as we walked out of the parking garage. I'm always scared to get electrocuted there...

Walking back to our car we passed this mural. I can't believe how many murals there are in this city. Stories have it that the girl on the bicycle was actually painted over because people had complained about the old man on the left giving her a pervy look... Insane.

From the parking garage we could see this top floor of some building that was converted into a pubby area including a bar and toilet. Pretty cool.

And then it was time for a pint o' Guinness! It's Saint Patricks day today so I gotta have some!

We went to the Daniel O Connel.

On the way home we did some shopping. Women's handbags are getting bigger and bigger on a daily basis these days.

In the mall is also an italian deli where I spotted this box with a familiar name on it ;-)

Finally, a picture from Google Earth showing Gepps Cross, an intersection down the road. It's a bit retarded here. You can go in ANY direction from WHERE EVER you come from with ONE exception. Coming from the South, you are not (anymore) allowed to turn right. Instead, you have to cross semi-right, do a U-turn and turn left. Handy eh?
