Reading on the balcony

Reading on our balcony, enjoying peace and quiet and a breeze. Loved it.

Excellent reading material too, of course ;-)

Visiting Reserve Africaine de Sigean

We went to Reserve Africaine de Sigean today. A wildlife park with mainly African animals. Half of the park is drive-through and the other half is by foot.

It was a pretty good idea to NOT leave your car!

Lazy bums...

Beautiful shot of a lioness.

Daddy lion with 2 cubs.

It looks like daddy lion has received quite a few bitch-slaps in his time ;-)
(Click for larger version and check the scars on his face)

Another beautiful, big cat.

White peacock.

I couldn't resist thinking "Me, Milan, Larissa and Simone" hahaha

The chimp at the top has a little one. You can just see its little hand holding on to the back :-)

This is our street. Quite a nice camping I gotta say...

The pool

Today was mainly a pool-day. There is a very nice pool with 3 slides. You'll have to imagine blue water, a yellow slide, a green one and 2 blue ones. Also lots of little palm trees and a seperate pool for laps/sports and another for little kids. There's a ton of sun but also still a lot of wind. It's a nice pool :-)

Planning the next day before hitting the sack.

The soccer game

We took it real easy today, mostly checking out the pool and doing some grocery shopping and getting our bearings.

In the evening we watched Holland play Argentina in the FIFA semi final. The camping had setup a few TV sets inside. It turned pretty orange here and there :-)
Unfortunately Holland lost during the penalties. Pity. Now life can go on again!

The arrival

This is what we had to drive today. It's a fair bit more than we anticipated but we'll manage :-)

And off we were...

Just before 7PM we arrived at the camping where we rented a little home for 2 weeks. It looked nice!

And we're off!

First of all: HAPPY BIRTHDAY DAD! :-)

Today we took off to the very South of France. Simone, the kids and me. Preparations had been a bit stress full because we had such a busy weekend just before we had to leave but everything worked out. Once we were in the car, I smiled a big smile on the inside :-)

We left late so we needed to spend the night somewhere. We also had dinner in France somewhere and yeah, they didn't speak English, still...

I ordered a burger for dinner. Instead of a bun the meat was packed between 2 potatoe patties. And there wasn't just the burger in between, also a thick slice of ham and melted cheese. A calorie bomb but very tasty!

We were lucky enough to find outselves a nice hotel for the night. Decent, clean rooms.

The bee

In the morning I sat in Simone's garden a bit. Lots of bees were hovering around lavender flowers. I like.

We visited friends of her's in the afternoon which was nice.
