The crack, or not?

I went to my garage early this morning to get more stuff done. But I was so early the DIY store was still closed. Since the weather was great I took the car out for a little spin :-)

I did notice something that worries me. There's something that looks like a crack in front of the driver's side cylinder head...

I'm not sure if it's a crack of some leftover from the casting process...

I put up another shelve under the sink and did some other little things. Even cleaning up and organising is fun. The little garage-area at the front is nearly done now.

Simone finished work early and we went to have dinner at the beach again. I ate healthier food than usual but still a few things my diet doesn't allow like bread, pesto and cheese. It was delicious though.
Oh, and I had 1 little cookie with my coffee... oops.

The beach / The fire

In the morning I drove my car through the car-wash. Some huge truck before me didn't fit too well and made the whole thing come to an emergency stop. It was fixed pretty quick so that was OK. Exciting no? ;-)

Late afternoon Simone and I went to the beach. The weather was great. Naturally, I had to go for a swim eventhough the water is still pretty cold.

Around 5PM we noticed the tide was coming in and people infront of us were moving to higher grounds. Surely it can't be that bad is what I was thinking at that time...

But pretty soon there was nothing left between me and the sea except for a few meters of sand.

As the water kept coming closer I denied the tide totally and started to build a dyke around me. Afterall that's what we do here ;-)

It didn't work and in the end we moved TWICE to get away from the water... But all in all we had a lovely time at the beach!

In the evening I looked outside at the back because I thought it was going to rain. But my weather-app on my phone wasn't showing any rain clouds, very strange. But then I noticed sirenes and looked at the emergency services website and saw that there was a huge fire going on close to my work. So I looked out the front and saw this... All the smoke was coming in our direction, we smelled it later in the evening. It was still going when we went to bed.

The beach-day

I took the day off because the weather was great and we wanted to hit the beach. The four of us went their and Hanny and Herman were already there.

It was an awesome day and I loved it. Must do it again sometime :-)

On the way back home we had to get into town where this gorgeous car was parked. (AZ is my hometown's football club ;-) )

While I was waiting for Simone to finish some shopping this little guy came to see if I had any food left, which I did not. Sorry little friend...

The beach

We went to the beach for a little walk and yo sit in the sun. It was very nice.

This afternoon we went to the beach. The weather was lovely.

Milan and I wanted to get our feet wet. I got my feet wet, Milan got a bit wetter ;-)

One last look...

The camping animals.

Yesterday I picked up my big camera from home when we were in town. I wanted to be able to take better photos with all these cool animals running around here. So this morning I woke up at 6:30 and I was sitting outside in front of our caravan at 6:45. It was totally quiet and I loved it. Soon enough the first creatures showed up :-)

This bunny was the first one to appear before my camera.

And then I made my best shot like... ever! This squirel ran past and in to the tree. It stopped when it heard my camera and looked at me for a few seconds. Snap! Thank you little squirel!

When it left it stood still for a few seconds again.

This is how you normally see them coz they are very quick little critters.

It was getting lighter. Beautiful sky. I was so happy sitting there.

This little bird came to say hello. It wasn't scared for a bit!

This little guy came to sit quite close as well. Beautiful little bird.

I saw something reddish move from the corner of my eye and yes, the squirel was visiting a hole in a nearby tree.

In the afternoon we cycled to a place called Horst. We wanted to get to the beach. Accidentally we took the ferry thinking it would take us to the beach or something.

Instead it took us to a place called Zeewolde...

Well, there was beach there as well so that was cool. We spent a few hours in the sun and then cycled back. Lovely day.

The pier of Velsen

When Simone was done working she picked me up and we first went to a birthday party of a friend's kid. Then we had dinner with her mom and then we went to Velsen for a walk along the pier. Big ships were coming and going.

There was a nice sunset.

Lovely.

It made for some pretty pictures.
