The heater

Wall painting at Haarlem station. Marjolein and I were going to her sister's for 2 birthdays.

Another wall painting at Haarlem station.

Marjolein warming up by a funny kind of heater on the platform on our way home. I had never seen such a heater.

Damn soccer...

Marjolein came over for dinner and we made that awesome chorizo paprika dish again. It was gooooooooooood! :-) Then we waited for the soccer match to end and walked to the pub. Unfortunately the match still had not ended and we couldn't even get in that's how busy it was. We went elsewhere for a drink (and cake ;-P ) and went back to Mulligans later to see what the band was like. They were OK.

Night view

The view from the ferry on my way home. I worked an hour late. What can I say, I am motivated ;-)

The Grande Congo

On the ferry in the morning. It was cold and quiet.

This gigantic monster ship is docked next door. It's the Grande Congo, from Italy.

Ira received her iPhone 4s today. I love it when people don't act all difficult for a pose :-)

The parking space.

Playing a game of Wordfeud with Margot whom I know from the pub. It's getting a bit too cosy for comfort on one side of the board...

While waiting for the bus to take me to the client below Rotterdam today I spotted this ad. Somebody isn't paying their graphic designers enough money to close the parking space between her front teeth...
I'm sure she's all lovely and everything but all I can see is the gap!

Amsterdam Central Station.

Yes!

Gillian Welch in Paradiso

I had to go to Poortugaal (below Rotterdam) again today. It's far. 2 hours using public transport...

And back again. I left early because I was going to a concert! :-)

Marjolein and I went to see Gillian Welch. American country/folk/bluegrass singer. She is accompanied by David Rawling, a very gifted guitar player.

I love this photo, it looks like they're painted.

One more, very large photo. The concert was awesome. They played in Paradiso here in the Dam. The church of music was packed to the roof, it was hot and steamy. Quiet while they played but the applause they got after every song was incredible. Glad I caught them!
