A message from your editor

Dear reader of my blog,

Due to receiving more and more spam I have been forced to setup word verification when leaving comments. I hope that this does not make people leave less comments.

I also made the comment window a pop-up so that the original page on which you are commenting stays open. That should at least make things a bit easier.

Thank you for visiting,

Vincent.

Sinterklaas 2009

I took this photo for Nicole. It is the first time ever that I saw another person with the same model handbag. This was a black one though...

I had a Sinterklaas party at my sister's place. My folks and Cassie were there as well. And the cats too.

Cassie made a sensational starter: chicken and mandarin with a bit of whiskey sauce. I looooved it.

Then there were puff pastry bowls with home made chicken ragout. Very, very nice.

The cats were having a good time as well.

As they do.

Dessert.

And then it was time for pressies and poems. Dad first.

Then me.

I got this wonderful bonsai tree that I will now try to care for. I have two now so that increases my chances of actually having one that survives. This one is 9 years old.

Then it was my moms turn.

She got a painting kit.

Then it was Ilse's turn.

And finally Cassie's.

Sinterklaas was funny this year and had bought everybody a Lego present! My mom got a little car.

I took the train to Amsterdam and went straight home coz I was tired.

My chocolate "V"

These is student-housing made out of sea-containers.

At work we were all given a chocolate letter for Sinterklaas. It's already gone :-)

On Fridays work pays for lunch so everybody orders things. It's like seagulls fighting for chips...

Chapeau.

Where my ferry hits the other side, a submarine called "Crazy cowboy" or something is docked.

After work I had dinner with my friend Willem of whom I forgot to take a photo... We had drinks in Mulligans after dinner. A band called "Chapeau" was playing old style songs, bits of bossa nova
too I believe. Anyway, it was super relaxing. It was a pity I had to go home because I have to WORK tomorrow...

The sea monkeys

Boarding the little ferry in the morning on my way to work.

It started getting light again.

There are little duckies stenciled along the way.

A colleague of mine has sea monkeys on his desk. Tiny little water creatures that can stay in some form of hibernation for a very long time and wake up when put in the right water.

Working again...

I started working again today. It's just across the water so I have to take the ferry. I like the ferry, it's exciting (for now!) :-)

My new work is in an industrial area where they do a lot of things with big ships.

Last weekend there was a big fire. It's almost next door. I walk past it on the way. It stinks.

This is my new work computer. Brand new, I like.

Chili con carne for lunch. Awesome! Same again tomorrow hehe

In the afternoon a bag with office goodies was dropped off. I like my stapler. Please don't take my stapler...

When I left work it was just past 5PM but already almost dark. Made some nice photos though.

New office building.

Looking towards Amsterdam.

And this is what I have to do now. Accumulated dishes. I can't look at it anymore...

The chili con carne

I made chili con carne tonight with these ingredients. First time ever for me, it was exciting! (The veggies are for a soup btw...)

Halfway through.

And this is the end result. It tasted great :-)

Renate @ Wagamama

Breakfast.

Renate wanted me to proof read for her and I wanted food. It was a nice lunch.

The pancakes

Today it was time for pancakes.

Butter and batter. A rock-solid combination!

Pancakes in the making.

Pancake close-up.

My finished stack of pancakes. I only managed to eat three and one that failed.

I played Gin rummy. I lost baaaaadly but it was fun nevertheless.
