Feeding the birds

It's been freezing quite a bit lately which makes all the birds gather at the open bits of water. We had some old bread that was gonna get canned so I fed it to the birds. They seemed quite happy with it.

The swans

When I came from work today I saw this big row of swans swimming past. They looked awesome.

In the evening I took my Mustang for a spin to get it some much needed exercise. At some point the new Airbus 380 from Emirates flew past. Impressive aircraft!

The pigeons

On today's walk I saw these two pigeons sitting in a dead tree. It looked cool.

The bird

I spotted this bird of pray from the office today.

I reckon it's a buzzard. Pretty cool to see!

The new swan family

Kraanspoor building.

Another year, another swan family. 7 baby swans they had.

In the evening I went to my car. It started on the second try. Then I drove to Simone for coffee and then back again. It drove well.

Anne's card

I was late for my ferry so I sat in the sun a bit. I ate a snack and shared a bit with this jackdaw. Beautiful little bird.

When I came home I found this card from Ruud and Laurien. It announced their daughter, Anne. I'm very happy for them! :-)

The love-locks

I saw this little family while going to work. It's close to my house. They didn't seem scared...

In the evening I went in to town to get some new clothes. The weather was real nice.

After shopping I went to Mulligans to meet up with Gerrit. It was a fun evening with a couple of lovely pints of real Irish cidre.

The bench from the movie "blah blah in the stars" or something is now the latest target of "love-locks"...

The strawberry eater

In the early days they used to just hammer concrete poles into the ground. These days they pour concrete in a deep hole that shapes as a pole when it solidifies. What I didn't understand was:
To create the hole, the tip of the cylinder that's hammered into the ground must be closed off. But to be able to pour in the concrete and then remove the cylinder there can't be a closed off tip!
Today I figured out how this all works and it's really simple. The cylinder sits on a loose tip and the tip stays in the ground. DUH! There's another one of Vincent's mysteries solved ;-)

Boinky boinky, all day long. Oh suddenly I have to think of rabbits. Nevermind that...

Back at Simone's ranch I was at the back. Simone has this strawberry plant sitting there and somebody else was very interested in it!

"Mmmh, I like that one!"

Chomp!

The escort

On my way to work this morning I saw this mama duck escorting 6 or so ducklings to safer waters. Spring is near :-)

The panorama view

I made this panorama photo whilst waiting for my ferry. It worked out nice I think.

The day started off cloudy but the sun cam through pretty soon.

There you go, sun! The Amsterdam Botel recently made their name known a little bit better.

The new NDSM ferry terminal. I wonder when they're gonna start using it.

Cormorants were sunbathing already.

The second proteine diet, day 15.

Water was frozen this morning. First time this winter.

When I got to the ferry after work I noticed a new bit of construction. I wonder if it's going to be a new terrace for the IJ-kantine or a new ferry dock...

Removing the steering wheel

NDSM.

After work I went to Zwanenburg and I saw these geese.

I was going to remove the steering wheel. To do this, I used the steeringwheel puller I got yesterday.

You put it on like this and by screwing in the big screw you pull off the wheel.

It went well.

Now I was able to remove the instrument cluster.

Some parts of the printed circuit are broken. I have ordered a new one with which I'll replace this one.

The starling fight

A greasy dirty chips basket is definitely worth fighting for. That what these starlings must've thought. I photographed them while waiting for my tram to drive off.

MINE!

Browsing

I was very surprised to still see baby birds! Nice though. I hope they'll do well coz it's getting colder pretty quick now.

I browsed for Mustang hardware a bit in the evening.

Second batch?

It was pissing down with rain this morning. I had to carry too much shit and my Ray bans fell and the glasses got scratched. I was pissed off indeed.

These Egyptian geese just received a few little babies. I wonder if it's their second batch...

"AMSTERDAM"

The roof over a new part of Amsterdam Central Station was finished a while ago. It reads "AMSTERDAM". Just incase you're lost in your little airplane I guess...

There are a few families of Nile (Egyptian) geese again. This is exactly half of one. These animals thrive like nothing else and I think they're telling all their friends.

The grebes

Grebes on my way home. Just like last year. And the year before. And before.

Checking on the pony

Baby geese on my way home.

In the evening I went to my car. I needed to drop off some stuff and pay up.

It was nice seeing my car again. I still love the shelve and the coathanger I put up.
