The Elbe

I woke up around 6AM on top of my deflated air mattress. I didn't want to wake up but I was uncomfortable and I needed to visit the loo so I got up at 6:30. Yay... Not. Anyhow, I also had a shower which was nice and I enjoyed the silence at the camping very much. When I got back to my tent around 7AM I found Paul and Nancy awake and we walked to the banks of the river Elbe where we sat and chatted a bit. It was very quiet and very foggy. It was just us, the birds and the cows. Oh, and a dog.

When we got back there was fresh coffee which tasted excellent-o! Jan and Susanne had woken up as well.

Paul and Nancy's tent :-)

Around 9:30 breakfast (buffet) was served. Very nice fresh German bread rolls and cakes. Susanne did a great job!

Around noon we went home again. We had lunch along the way. I had a very nice Jager schitzel.

Paul and Nancy.

Yours truly.

Happy birthday Jan!

Today is my mate Jan's 40th birthday so I wrapped him a pressie which made many people laugh. Why?! ;-)

I drove along with Nancy and Paul to see my mate Jan for his 40th birthday. Jan didn't know I was coming along!

On the way to Germany we stopped a few times and one of those times Nancy saw that there was a geo-cache hidden at the car park so we went looking for it and she found it! It was very cleverly hidden in this table...

We met the gang in town and after a brief visit to Jan and Susanne's new place we all went to the camping. It was fun seeing everybody again and indeed, Jan was very happily surprised to see me :-)

I was able to borrow a little green tent.

All of Jan's family was there and a few friends.

I bought these at a gasstation along the way ;-)

The BBQ was lovely and everybody had a great evening!

Old friends

My friend Jan was doing surprise visits in Holland today. He lives in Germany so we don't see him often. It was great seeing him again. Mic joined and we went out to dinner and then we had coffee and chocolate cake afterwards at Rembrandtplein.

1 Jan.

Jan only had time for dinner before visiting his sister in The Hague. Mic and I had our new years drink in Mulligans where we had quite a few laughs.

Back to the 70's

I played squash with Mic. He smashed a ball in my face, 2cm underneath my right eye, but I beat him 5-1 anyway, leaving him behind disillusioned...

My friend Jan sent me this picture from way past. It was his wedding party in Germany. 70's theme. Pity I didn't have my Mustang then ;-)

I love the photo!
