The stunning fake tat.

The "Nieuwe kerk Amsterdam". I walked past on my way to dinner.

I met my friend Patricia for dinner, it was very nice seeing her again. We went to Genroku, a Japanese place. It's a fixed price (E23,50) for as many orders you can eat in 2 hours. Every order may contain max. 5 items. Even though I am always hesitant towards this formula I have to say the food was very nice and fresh too. I think I will go there more often!

The only bad thing was one of the waitresses who made a wonderful fake ink tattoo on her fingers. Maybe she was bored or something. She was serving people with this written on her fingers. I asked if I could photograph it and she allowed that. I was gonna email this to her boss but I'm not. Stupid people also need jobs.

OH! Almost forgot. She also had a most interesting way of removing an empty bottle by pressing a finger in it and lifting it up that way. She actually made a 5 second effort pressing her finger in the bottle...

Then we went to restaurant Schiller to sit on the terrace for dessert. But soon we had to move in coz of a torrential downpour...

When Patricia had to go home I went to Mulligans for a night cap. Same band was playing again, good stuff.

Close to home I was surprised to see about 50 horse pulled carriages driving past under police escort. Very cool. Pity for them it rained...

Horsies.

O'Sullivan's John

Because of this...

... this happened. Never seen it this busy.

In the evening I walked in to town and I spotted this cat sleeping outside. So cute :-)

O'Sullivan's John was sung in Mulligans. Nice music.

To concert or not to concert?

ZZ Top ZZ Top ZZ Top ZZ Top! And the Doobie brothers too, legendary stuff. I think I wanna go but it's almost in Germany... Have to see.

I had dinner with Stephen, Nicole, Michelle and Daan. Crazy Wendy was serving us. Lovely girl but... bit crazy ;-)

The soccer banner at Dan Murphy's. Ireland not happy about how France qualified against them. Well, so they should because it was disgraceful.

70!

I waited at the back of the Alkmaar train station. I was delivering magazines in this area one summer 20 years ago to make some extra bucks as a kid.

I went to my folks coz my dad turned 70 today! YAY! And there was football cake! YAY!!

Cassie, Ilse and mom.

This is the birthday boy :-)

Hup Holland Hup!

Walking to work in the morning I discovered a new route. It's much nicer as it goes past the water. It's a new walk way made for the new office in the distance.

More crane action. A new ship was being towed in.

I slept shit, only 2 hours. Needed caffeine.

After work I went to the pub to watch Holland play Uruquay.

Holland won! Orange crowds were everywhere.

See the next two videos about what happened the hours following the victory in Amsterdam :-)

Got folders?

The wing-ferry speeding away in front of a small cruise ship.

There was a lot of crane action again today. The cranes in the middle are floating on the water. They are docked around a large ship and then smaller boats come along side. Quite clever.

I finally got my folders today. I am putting them in my filing cabinet now.

I made chili con carne. Dinner and two lunches.

Crowded...

I was in town again, looking for hanging folders for in my filing cabinet. They were nowhere to be found. I did however find new bonsai pots.

At Dam square some street artists had the biggest audience I have ever seen with any street artist...

In Mulligans I saw that Alie's coat was still there. It was probably obscured for her by a cloud of alcohol ;-) She doesn't live that far from the pub so I dropped it off at her place. her garden is stunning. She has totally "Alie-ed" the house now.

I then went back to Mulligans to eat my late lunch which was Asian take-away.
