The settlers.

Today's mission was to get skiing pants.

I succeeded and got good pants for a bargain of 35 euro!

I went to Blokker close to the ski-shop for something else and saw boxes with this photo on it. It's a famous Dutch TV chef who now sells his "own" range of kitchen stuff. I don't fine this photo particularly appetizing.

A statue of Ghandi I like from before I went to Australia. It's in our old neighbourhood.

On my way back home the stupid chipcard machines didn't check peoples cards out anymore so the driver actually "reset" the whole tram. It took almost 10 minutes. He switched everything off and on again. Thank you MS Windows for making us think that that solves our problems...

In the afternoon the police helicopter was flying low a few times.

Late afternoon some friends came over to play Settlers of Catan. Nic came over to cook for us. She did a very good job too!

Danny, Mic and Kees.

From 20:30 till 21:30 it was "Earth hour". We turned the lights off and the computer and the TV and we put on candles.

Mic played with my webcam...

The cranes.

They have cleaned up a lot. That's the last remaining piece of the burned out building.

Floating cranes.

On Friday lunch is for free so everybody orders. When it arrives, everybody just flocks around the tables with food.

My lunch: chips with peanut sauce and chicken nuggets.

This is what I look like when I'm working.

In the evening I went to the pub. It was a lovely evening.

Aida again.

The Aida floated past again.

A nice apartment.

I went to look at another apartment today. The one at the bottom, behind the bicycle. It looked good except for one big wet spot in the back wall. We'll see.

After work I went in to town to meet my friend Martje in Mulligans. It was nice catching up a bit with a few pints.

Dinner was good and bad at the same time ;-P

The not-window

A wing-boat racing past me this morning.

Citibox before the fire destroyed it.

Citibox being cleaned up after the fire destroyed it.

I made myself some fresh OJ downstairs at work.

I received my ChipSoft skiing jacket today. I hope the folks in Sell am see will be wearing sunglasses because there are 330 of these coming their way!

A very cool decorated outside wall of an apartment building. I love it!

After work I went here to check out a house that is for sale. I was early so stood around checking the surroundings a bit. That corner cafe is drawing an audience that is potentially troublesome. The place itself was nice but it would need some work like a new floor, kitchen and probably bathroom. It's OK. Something will come my way.

The H4x0r bus

Leidseplein early morning; empty.

These apartment buildings are all reasonably new. Very sought after I reckon.

New and old buildings but they both look nice. A lot of old warehouses have been converted to apartment buildings in this area.

A modern, new building.

A sailing ship came past. Quite a different sight.

At the end of the day they had removed a very large part of the building, quite amazing really. They're going really fast.

On my way home I saw this German bus.

The trip to town.

Horrible flashbacks at the end of my street...

I went in to town with Nic.

The weather was glorious, it was warm! The canals looked beautiful.

Shocking news! I went to Wagamama and I did NOT order chicken katsu curry! Instead I tried the chili men and I have to say it was very nice.

The waga kitchen.

The lizards at Leidseplein.

Another beautiful canal.

There was a premiere at Tuschinki theatre. Some dragon movie I never heard of.

Then we went to James Gate and I had Magners cider. I loooove Magners. But 1 pint costs 7.50 euro :-(

I bought settlers of Catan.

I cooked chicken siam tonight.

Three portions to take to work.
