The flat tyre

I went back to my garage to check on the rear tyre. It was flat again... I guess I'll be ordering new ones next year.

I keep the wheel from damage I put it on a stand.

I also started making an area where I can organise some tools on the wall. That will get more stuff out of the way at least. Not sure if it stays in this spot though...

Checking in on the 'stang

Today i went to check on my garage and Mustang. The garage was fine but the Mustang had a flat tire at the back, bummer!

I couldn't see anything really wrong so I gave it some air with the footpump which actually worked. I managed to take it out for a little 10 minute spin which was very nice. The engine is still doing very well. So pleased with that. Still, I'd like to take the car apart completely and give it new wiring, plumbing, a rebuild engine and tranny and the original paint and trim. But first I need to work on the garage itself a bit more...

In the evening I went for a walk. The weather was great.

I saw a cow.

And birds.

And goats.

Going to my garage! :-)

After dinner I went to my garage. There was a door missing.

But not anymore :-)

For reference I made some photos of the electronics board.

The main switch.

Also a reference picture of my tire's pressure descriptions.

The crack, or not?

I went to my garage early this morning to get more stuff done. But I was so early the DIY store was still closed. Since the weather was great I took the car out for a little spin :-)

I did notice something that worries me. There's something that looks like a crack in front of the driver's side cylinder head...

I'm not sure if it's a crack of some leftover from the casting process...

I put up another shelve under the sink and did some other little things. Even cleaning up and organising is fun. The little garage-area at the front is nearly done now.

Me happy!

Simone finished work early and we went to have dinner at the beach again. I ate healthier food than usual but still a few things my diet doesn't allow like bread, pesto and cheese. It was delicious though.
Oh, and I had 1 little cookie with my coffee... oops.

The grouting

Enjoying my calendar at work. There's a pretty picture for August now :-)

I went to my garage and grouted the little tiled wall. It went quite well, especially for a first time :-)

The dream come true

Tanja's little plant seems to be doing very well. I wonder what's gonna come out...

Diet lunch. Quite nice!

This evening I moved my Mustang to its new location. I am really grateful for being able to rent this space for the past 4 years. It's given me opportunities and fun times that not many people have.

And here it is in its new location: my very own garage/workshop. It's a dream come true, that should've happened 8 years ago in Australia but didn't. I never thought it would be possible in Holland but here I am, I got one :-)

Getting fuel.

I came across this photo of a fox recently and saved it. I just love foxes. Such beautiful creatures!

I went for a drive in the evening, needed to get fuel. The least fun part of this hobby ;-)

The drive went very well along beautiful countryside.

Every single time I drive this way the beams close on me at least once... Always!

The tags

I went to my Mustang to make better pics of some tags I recently discovered. This here is the buck tag. No idea (yet) what those codes mean (except for some, like the VIN of course).

And this is the valve cover sticker. I believe it tells me things about the engine... We'll see.

In the afternoon I took Simone to my hopefully new garage. I spoke to one of the owners who's already settled and made ceilings. He is also going to put an oldtimer in. Cool! :-)

Meeting another Mustang owner

I met this guy called Jeroen today. I know him from the 7173MUSTANGS.com forum and he messaged me that he was close by and asked if I wanted to meet up, how nice! So I took a few hours off and we took my Mustang for a spin. It was the best run ever: Good start, good idle, nice driving, great stuff! Jeroen was a little impressed with my car complimenting on the looks and also the way it sounds ;-)

I let him look at my car as he was looking for a few references for his convertible. As he was going along he pointed out that my original buck-tag is still there. I hadn't even noticed! I need to clean it up and get a better picture as the stuff on the tag tells me something about the car, maybe even stuff I don't know yet. Cool!

He also brought me a copy of the '73 facts and specs manual. It's an old re-print but that's OK. I thought that was mighty nice of him to do!

Bye bye nice ramps, you served me very well :-)

Tonight I sold the hydraulic ramps to a guy in a sleeper BMW. He bought them without even checking if they work. I know they work but still...

Then I fired up the 'stang and took it for a spin. I adjusted the idle rpm a bit because the cold engine struggled a bit when I put it in reverse or drive. Even powering the powersteering-pump made the engine struggle. The adjustment worked out nice. It drove very well, kept running while waiting infront of the lights, nice and steady. When I got home I checked the oil levels, all good as well. Perfect. Maybe finally I can get more confident instead of less :-)

The test drive

In the morning I went to my Mustang to take it for a test drive. I also wanted to check out the electric choke. Here you can see the lever in the middle is vertical meaning the choke valves are closed.

After a bit of a spin the lever was on a 30 degree angle, pulling the choke valves completely open. Glad to be able to confirm that the choke works :-)

The drive went well although I was unable to determine if the kickdown was functioning... I do know my car has no problems going fast as well now ;-)

My little oak tree is doing great as well.

Silver had been outside all afternoon and was really tired.

In the evening when he was with me he fell asleep in the most awesome positions again ;-)

The escape / The drive

Today Silver escaped from his little harness so he is now walking around all by himself, discovering everything he has always wanted to see, feel and smell. I love seeing him do that. The downside is that it's quite a challenge to get him back in before we go to bed...

I went to my Mustang, adjusted the steering wheel and took it for a longer spin. The car drove fine and the engine felt stable. It fired up on the first attempt as well, I am soooo pleased with that. I am finally getting more confident with the car instead of less...

Completing the oil change

So this morning my garage-neighbour stopped by to help me getting my Mustang back on the ground. We did it with the help of a few bottle jacks. What a relief that was!

I finally managed to complete the oil change, unfortunately on a cold engine but oh well... I used my new tool to get the old filter out.

And I put the new one in by hand.

Because the weather was so nice, I took the car out for its first spin of 2017:

The good and the bad oil spill

I went to my Mustang today to change its oil. Everything went well until...

One of the ramps chucked out hydraulic fluid and locked in the safety latch. I wasn't under the car but let's just give a BIG thank you to the safety latch!

I didn't know what to do there and then except for re-enforcing the ramp just incase it would collapse.

I let it sit like this for the night. Tomorrow morning my neighbour is coming to help me to try and get it down again. Let's hope for the best (and no accidents!).
