The hug

I picked up my harp again but this time i wanted a proper book to guide me instead of screwing around myself so I went in to town.

I passed Wil's chips stand. I have been getting chips here for about 10 years now. Which is amazing now that I think about it.

When he saw me, he came out, leaving 7 people waiting, and gave me a big hug. It was the nicest gesture I had all day. This man is special in a near spiritual way.

I bought my harmonica book and drove the tram back home.

Ho-ho-ho.

I spent the night at Mulligans to watch and listen to the Tennessee studs. Good musicians but sooooo Dutch. I stepped on toes again as well. I'm so not impressed with myself...

My stirfry.

Late morning I went to town. I was on a mission.

A mission to order my new computer! On the right the old 24" I used to have in Adelaide and on the left the new 27" iMac I now have on order.

I made a chicken stirfry for dinner. It was not bad for a first attempt.

In the evening I walked in to town. I said hello to this little lady.

I sat at the bar a bit at first.

Alie was there. She looked great and was full of "hopla hopla".

The band was OK.

And then I walked home again. All in all it was a nice evening :-)

The lamp.

Ah, Dutch weather. Can't get it any worse anywhere...

I went to the butcher to get some chicken fillets.

This is my view from my desk. Walls and grey skies. If I wasn't me I would be severely depressed.

I went to town.

And I bought a lamp. I love it and I think it's beautiful.

In the evening I went to town again. To the pub to be precise.

I walked past the dark canals.

The Surfchixxx were playing. They were alright.

I left around 23;30. It was foggy.

I Amsterdam

Breakfast.

My sister was in the neighbourhood and had a few minutes to spare so she came to visit me. She was very entertaining to some painters passing by. Possibly coz she carries a gun...

I don't like guns but I do like my sister. We're gonna have lunch in town on Sunday :-)

My parents had been over earlier. They brought one of the two boxes I sent. This box contained a feather of Cocky-girl that I found on the floor once. I like it a lot.

Mid afternoon I walked to a council office. I took a route through the Vondelpark.

They are still working on the museum. Everything takes fucking ages in this country. In Adelaide they build one whole overpass in a very busy intersection in one year...

I waited at the line at the council office.

They made little rooms for people to be served in private. I registered with the city again so now I am an official Amsterdammer again.

Afterwards I was hungry and realised I missed lunch. Since I was close I went to Waga's.

I waited for the tram home at Leidseplein.

Kermis!

I visited my old work today to make an appointment for further talks. I walked over the Bos en Lommer market.

Late afternoon I went in to town. The plan was to go to the Bijenkorf and a quick visit to Mulligans after.

There is kermis on Dam square.

Hmmmmm.

At the Bijenkorf they are ready for Christmas.

Something i didn't know about Michael jackson... ;-P

And then I got stuck in Mulligans because the soccer match AZ - Arsenal was on... Danny and Jon book were there too. They read a bit.

Collins dropped by as well. We toasted on his mom who died 15 years ago today. Bless her.

And then Jud and his wife dropped in.

In the end I came home close to midnight. Now I have to listen to the new Rammstein album.

Goood night! :-)

The Vincent cooking show.

And this is why every bit of road work takes so incredibly long. They hang around forever without actually doing any work.

Today it was time to hit the supermarket. I went to the AH.

Because I'm a bit dumb sometimes, I had to go to AH a second time to get things I forgot.

The Kinkerstraat.

In preparation of todays food-fest I took off my rings.

Phase 1: The start.

Phase 2: Cooking.

Phase 3: done cooking.

Phase 4: Bon apetit.

Not bad for my first home cooked meal as a single again ;-)
