Poffertjes!

We enjoyed a nice breakfast at Scoozi's this morning. I had raisin toast and two half muffins with salmon. Hmmmmm.

Since my visit to Melbourne screwed up my eating habits already I had poffertjes as well. These are THE best. The lady was telling us that the city council is thinking of closing the market because it's too expensive. I think that would be a BIG mistake.

I enjoyed the poffertjes very much today.

We walked back to the car through the park.

Because we had no food in the house we drove past Woolworths. There was a beautiful old Holden in the parking lot.

We bought mandarins.

And eggplant.

And paprika (but we got green ones instead).

So after we came home I wanted to do a laundry and found out we were out of washing powder. I went back to Woolworths and got us some more.

Swimming with Sharks

Two doves in our garden recently became parents. Their eggs hatched a few days ago and their babies are already quite big and their eyes have opened too.

Here's mum or dad (can YOU tell the difference?!) who came back for some feeding. During the day they don't really sit on the nest anymore. It's very warm so they babies won't get cold.

We went to the post office to post stuff and pay bills.

It was a very warm day (27C inside our flat!) and in the evening I just wanted to swim in the sea. I just had to. It was calling me :-)

Right. I was going to write about a fin that we saw in the distance. About twice as far away from the beach as I was. It was definitely not the dolphins but we didn't think it was a shark either. They spotted a great white last week but that would've been gone by now and you don't get many great white's here.

So out of curiosity I check the news and guess what?

It was a f*cking shark. And not a toy shark either. Actually even bigger than the one we had last week aparently. It must've been about 100 metres away from me. Check the story in our quality news paper or look at more photos.

It also explains why we saw a speed boat racing towards the area where we saw the shark. Probably police or something. The scary thing is that there was also a guy on a jet-ski that we couldn't find anymore when we left.

Scary.

The Rundle Street pigs

My new mobile office. Today I inquired for a new 24" iMac. The shop has 1 in stock so I might get one soon. Haven't decided 100% yet as it's a very big expense.

Temperatures were rather pleasant again. This was around 1PM. There is a very big downside to this I have to tell you btw: mosquito's. During the past 3 days I have already been stung 7 times. What can I say, I guess they want to be my best friends...

Mozzies or no mozzies, with sites like this they're easily forgotten. The city was once again bathing in sun.

Nicole and I went to get lunch while in town. We went into a food court. That's something you don't really see in The Netherlands.

Food courts are often in the basement of a big shopping mall and they dedicated that floor to lots of little snackbars/take-away's with each their own sitting area. Some places sell rather decent food actually.

Outside again walking through Rundle Street. We had to see the little piggies of course. They are 4 bronze sculptures of pigs, only 2 are shown.

The view through Rundle Street.

We had a drink while waiting for Nic's parents to come pick us up as they were in town as well. Needless to say someone was very happy with her diet coke today.
