Apple pie!

The Inuit have moved in next door ;-)

Spread over town we now have these racks where people can hang up stuff they find on the street. It's a pretty cool initiative.

I went to Wagamama to have lunch with Nicole. It was a bit hard to walk in some places.

Me on Leidseplein.

View along a canal.

I made my very own, first ever, apple pie tonight. It looks fantastic and it tastes great! I'm very proud of myself :-)

Bloody snow edition.

Early...

Obviously it has snowed over night.

I left a trail.

Sampson was moved again but is still there. It's such an awesome ship.

When I walked in to my office I was greeted by a snowman.

Two colleagues had their birthday and treated everybody at chocolate covered cookies with gold and silver sprinkles.

In the meantime a snow storm has arrived and I couldn't even see across the water anymore...

The guys from the hardware dept. downstairs found a car, a rope and a snowboard (coz we got that stuff lying around everywhere...) and had a bit of fun. We had fun watching them fall ;-)

The view eventually got even worse.

Around home-time it had stopped snowing but by then there was already 15-20cm of snow. It was bound to screw up traffic and public transport...

... and yes, the train station was nuts. Luckily I only walk through it.

The best way to walk in town was on the tram track. I like walking in the tracks. It's clean and nobody else walks there.

I Amsterdam

Bicycles. The streets were incredibly slippery. We've only had winters like these for the last 5000 years so we haven't quite figured out yet how to deal with weather like this... Maybe some day.

I bought a piping hot stir fry on the way to...

... the pub! It was nice and quiet. Max was working. I had 2 pints of cider and a coffee before I made my way home.

When I got home I found a card from my mom and dad. Thanks! :-)

The Queen Victoria

It was mad busy at the ferry this morning.

This is my Christmas tree at Warp 7.

In the distance a cruise liner showed up.

It was the Queen Victoria from the UK. She's gigantic and can handle up to 2000 passengers. I think I counted it to be 16 floors tall (above water!)

I played squash in the evening with my colleague Paul S. He showed me how the game's played ;-)

The face cake.

Good morning from the ferry.

This is my favourite amongst the new drinks that appear in our work-fridge; Blackberry.

I tried to make a new picture of my tree at work because the light is shit. It's not good. Tomorrow a colleague is going to bring a better camera.

My colleague Walter brought us "Face cake" today because next week is his last day with us.

Vultures ;-)

I walked in to town early evening...

... to meet Patricia with whom I went out to a Japanese place first and then to Mulligans for a few drinks. I did have a great time indeed :-)

The Christmas tree on Dam square with the "Bijenkorf" building behind it. There was a guitar player in front of the tree and he played awesome so I gave him a fiver.

Now with balls!

This is where I sit all day long. It's a very nice spot :-)

I finished my Christmas tree. I (ab)used my colleagues baby Jesus display hehehe.

We have new drinks at work that of course need to be tested. Half the sugar and half the calories of the normal juice but also half the flavour. It's like drinking lemonade.

After work I walked home through town after getting off mid way for shopping.

I passed this Italian restaurant that looked might interesting!

I saw this car already yesterday. It's a TV crew parked closed to my house.

And I got another Christmas card. This one is from Ilse and Cassie. Thank you girls! :-)

It's baby Jesus!

My colleague Sylvester took a little stable with baby Jesus and all to work. Christmas is coming for real!

A new ship docked next door. It looks like it's made of containers. They put cables on the ocean floor with it and it's called "AMT Discoverer". More info here.

After work my colleague Marijke spotted me on the ferry and she was going to the Bijenkorf which reminded me that I could do some Christmas shopping there as well so we walked down together which was nice. They put the Christmas tree up at Dam square again. It's big.

Moving furniture.

I moved one of my wardrobes today, preparing a space for my drum kit and more shelves on the wall. I also added a small shelf above my bed.

Nicole made brownies and Stephen Collins made a short movie about how they were made. I went over for a taste and yes, they tasted absolutely delicious. We also went out for dinner. I had fish.

After dinner we went to Mulligans to meet Anna who is going to India for a few months. In the photo is not Anna but Nicole and Kees actually ;-)
