The birds

This used to stand under the old cockies cage. I'm turning it in to a table for Tony's drill press. More on that tomorrow.

No weekend without visit to Bunnings. They were doing some DIY of their own.

Afterwards we went to Henley beach. Evita's to be precise. Very nice place with a wonderful view.

Bird.

Birds.

Another bird.

I picked up my T-shirt that I ordered from the States today.

Nicole actually gave me an idea for birthday presents for the rest of my life. So people who feel obliged to send stuff for birthdays and always ask me what I would like, PAY ATTENTION NOW! Go to T-shirt hell or J!nx or similar places and order me a cool, funny, or serious XXL or XXXL T-shirt. T-shirts are always handy, and it will be a real surprise :-)

Cool, Radio Veronica just started playing The final countdown, awesome! Tududuuduuuuuu TUduDUUUDUUUUUUUUUU!

Oh! Oh! Oh! Now they're playing Come on Eileen!

The Red back spider

The Friday afternoon beer!

I was meeting Nicole after work at the Lemongrass restaurant. I walked a different way for a change. It wasn't as spectacular as Kees' walks but it was still fun.

Old door.

Back street in the city.

I walked over North Terrace. The city (centre) of Adelaide is a square surrounded by four terraces like this.

There is the biggest parking I have ever seen on North Tce.

The uni of Adelaide is everywhere in the city.

The free masons also have a house/office there. This was the first stone. I'm thinking of changing my title ("Ing" = engineer title) to "The Most Worshipful Grand Master". It just has a better sound to it don't you think?

When we came home I spotted a new visitor in our garden: A Redback spider.

We took photo's and then delicately got rid of it by smashing it between two wooden planks. It's better not to have any poisonous things around...

Around town

Going home, driving past the big fountain that you can just see.

This is the Norwood townhall. We had a quick dinner opposite when picking up Nicole's new computer.

The Patat

During lunch I walked to a sport supplies store called "All Sports". I wanted to look at lawn bowls but they didn't have any. I think they need to change their name then...

I did find a place where they think they sell Euro-style chips. They tasted OK. They were made of real potatoes and they were baked nice, dry and crispy.

On the way home my bus passed the coppers who pulled someone over. Sucked in.

I thought I'd sit outside a bit to see if I could see the birds drink water. No way. Still no proof of them drinking. The cocky girl's water bowl gets empty slow so she's drinking. The cocky boys water doesn't seem to get a lot emptier...

I watched until the sun had set.

No more soup for you!

The shock of the day. The soup nazi is no more. Well, not next door anyway. They moved. The lease ended and they couldn't afford a new one in the same place (Thanks, you greedy sons of b@$#%&s of property owners!). No more soup for you! For ever!

After work I went to Woolies and walked home.

Walked home...

I passed the big Caterpillar garage. A whole different league of DIY :-)

The Mona Lisa

Lunch time was SUN time!

Pigeon in the sun...

Tree also in the sun. It was fantastic.

After work it was Monday night = PJ's night! So I walked my route through Rundle mall again. Maybe I should do like my friend Kees and walk different ways...

The pumps of life.. erm, beer.

While I was waiting for Nicole to arrive this woman was waiting for the bus outside. It looked better while taking the photo. It was like she was in "the light".

Bar light reflection.

I had dinner with Mona Lisa.

When we came home we found a parcel from Kees in the mail. Amongst some cd's for Nicole there was also a DIY smurf in it. We guessed that would be for me. Thanks Kees!

The gemstone fair / Henley beach

What do you do on Sunday morning? That's right, you go to church! My church is called "Bunnings". I had to go there to buy some AlimiNIUM L-profiles to make emergency repairs to the cocky girl's cage because during the night she had discovered that the painted wood of the roof tastes good. A few more nights like that and I would have to replace that beam. So now she can nibble on the AlumiNIUM. Good luck!

When we came home again, Karin and Gavin had arrived to work on the garden. The garden is a bit of a mess because weeds have sprung up everywhere due to the massive amounts of rain recently. Gavin needed safety goggles while using the whipper snipper. That calls for a photo of course.

Nicole fleeing away from the noise ;-)

My emergency repair had completed by then. The cocky-boy actually hasn't touched the bars but just to be safe he got AlumiNIUM profiles as well coz he also loves a good chew.

In the afternoon we went to a gem stone fair. There were a lot of people.

There were a lot of gem stones.

There were a lot of people checking out the gemstones.

There were also a few fossils here and there. This one was fantastic. Some sea creature. According to the seller (I guess he knows...) in this animal's age it was the top of the food chain. Yup, it was.

The gemstone fair was very nice. More stones and more people than I expected. Nicole scored a few very nice stones.

After this we drove to Henley beach where we walked up the jetty.

After having seen only rain for the past two months, lots of people (and their dogs) came out of their hiding places again.

This jetty has stairs that take you down so you could get in a boat or something. It's also a nice place for making photo's.

The colours were very nice.

Nicole looking at what I was doing.

I was making more photo's!

And more...

And more...

Never before had I seen an empty end of the jetty. Usually there are always a few people fishing at least. There were quite a few people out and about but just not here.

At the gemstone fair there were a few places that were selling one dollar surprise bags with stones in them. Nicole bought one and it had some nice stones in it! I think it's a fantastic idea to sell these one dollar bags. This photo shows the contents of the bag. The wrappers in the top left corner contain a few desert roses.

At Bunnings I also bought myself (collateral buyage) a Dremel.

It's a precision power-tool that can be used for engraving, sanding, grinding and polishing and probably a bit of cutting too.

I like.
