The fence-wood

I took the train to my folks. It was "Gay pride" in Amsterdam so a lot of pink was coming to town. I've seen plenty of pink and I'm not convinced that having "Gay games" (sports event for gays only) or a gay pride canal parade (lots of floats with more or less dressed gay folks) is doing the gay community any good. If you wanna be accepted and all that, then stop profiling yourself as something so bloody special...

Anyway, I went to my folks coz I had to cut some wood. This wood to be exact.

I turned it into bits and pieces for a little fence door to keep the hallway-pissers out.

Later on I went to the DIY store and got myself a B&D Workmate. I want one. I NEED one! ;-)

And then it rained...

Swan family update

They're working the old City box terrain again. No hurry.

The swan family. Mom (or dad?) was eating somewhere further up.

The shoot

A bit of a ship was wheeled past my new office. I guess I get to see the ships in more parts only now. At least more detail as well :-)

Yep. It's gay-pride preparations.

Some guys were shooting a music video on top of the Psycho Cowboy.

It started raining when I went to work, but only softly.

No no no no no! No no no no no no no! No no no no no no no! NO! No! No! No no no no no no NO! NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!

This can ONLY be good for Facebook because NOBODY likes this feature...

Preparing boats for the gay pride parade this weekend.

I moved office today. I'm not on the ground floor. My old roomies Cees, Sam and Sylvester helped me carrying my stuff down for which I was so thankful I promised them cake. Maybe this Friday? ;-)

My new desk is a lot bigger but it doesn't have any drawers yet so I just piled everything up.

The souvenir

I took the day off today because the weather was too nice and I wanted to catch some rays before winter starts next week!

I went shopping in the morning. This is around the corner of my house.

In the afternoon I went to Marjolein. At the station I saw these tourists. The lady had picked up a nice little souvenir in Pisa by the looks of it... Nice and easy to carry around to the other cities in Europe you're going to visit.

Marjolein and I went to the beach. It was nice and quiet.

When we cycled home we saw these Scottish beasts. They seem to quite like it here.

Then my phone magically started acting up. Major WTF?! However, after installing an update of a weather app (buienradar) it worked fine again. Weird shit.

Noortje and Olf

View along the Nassaukade while waiting for the bus this morning.

I bought a petit baguette with cheese and a packet of milk and had breakfast at the ferry watching the gigantic bicycle parking.

I went to Olf and Joke to meet Mic and his family for dinner before squash. Here's grandpa Olf with Mic's youngest, Noortje.

Their cat was there as well and said hello :-)

The wood

My mom and dad came to visit. Marjolein and I were going to cook for them. It was a lovely visit but I forgot to make any pictures :-(

My dad came to bring me this piece of wood which will allow me to (hopefully later this week) hang up my outdoors hallway light. I'm happy he managed to make it. Thanks dad! :-)
