Bye bye 2015

Today, is fireworks day! ;-)

Unfortunately this also means that arseholes will try to blow up whatever they can and shops sometimes have to barricade their windows...

We celebrated the new year at home with Simone's mom and Herman which was very nice. After midnight Milan was lighting fireworks for us and we hung out with the neighbours. Nice little evening together.

The ice sculptures

Today we visited the ice sculptures in Zwolle, a 1.5 hours drive from Amsterdam. When we got there we found out that there was a 90 minutes wait to get in so we went into town first to get some lunch.

When we returned about 2 hours later, the wait was "only" 45-60 minutes. Since we drove all the way for this we got in line and waited. It wasn't too bad in the end and what we saw inside was worth the wait!

Here are some pictures of some of the best sculptures on display:

This aborigaml man playing the didgeridoo was my absolute favourite!

This rhino and zebra were very nice too!

This is my second favourite sculpture. Fantastic.

It was a very nice and well spent day!

The car

If I replace the exhaust manifold on my Corsa, I'll also have to replace the lambda probe. Forgot about that.

We played a boardgame in the evening which was fun. This is Milan's car. I like the photo.

Amsterdam Light Festival.

Simone and I walked the walking trail of the Amsterdam light festival tonight. It was fun but very few sculptures were special to me. Here are most of the sculptures we saw. I'll mention the ones that appealed to me.

This was a letter from Spinoza, floating on the water. Nicely done.

There was a lot of sculptures made up with wires like this. I didn't like them much...

I like this one a fair bit but we couldn't get close enough for a good picture. You can only get close by boat.

I like this sculpture a lot.

This is one of my favourites.

I like the photo better than the actual sculpture to be honest...

And that's about it.

The beach

Simone and I went to the beach this afternoon. Lovely weather.

Just  bit windy ;-)

Love the sea. Love it.

The strong wind made pretty shapes in the sand.

Closer...

The King.
