The repair manual

I received the book about repairing Mustangs with V8 engines today. I bought it second had for a tenner. Nice!

I felt like opening the blinds today and put plants in the window. It made it look nice and warm and homey, I think I'll do it every day from now on!

Here's Tanja in front of a flying ship.

Told ya it flies...

The crane ship

This morning when I arrived at work I noticed the crane ship was lifted out of the water a little.

A little higher towards the end of the morning.

Lunchtime.

Mid afternoon.

And it was all the way up when I went home again.

Pretty awesome structure. It's actually delivered at it's destination by another ship that it sits on. Then the ship lowers and the crane ship maneuvers it's self in place.

Vroooooommmmmm

The sky in the morning as I left the house. This is my street/canal actually.

Tanja brought me (and herself) a present at work!

Check out our pressies in action ;-)

The neighbours are quite busy again.

"Kraanspoor" and the docks behind it.

Waiting for my ferry home.

The owls

On my way to work I saw a little ducky. It was under attack by a seagull but the mother kept it safe.

My colleague sold her house so she brought cake which was very nice of her. The cake was very nice, too!

After work I met Marjolein at Haarlem station and we walked to a park where 2 owls are looking after 4 babies. here you see 2 of the "babies". They're already big!

Some people take birds VERY serious.

We grabbed a bite nearby and returned at dusk. The setting sun coloured the trees golden.

The emergency money

Tanja put up a Jean-Claude van Damme poster today. She must be a fan. I'm thrilled for her ;-)

Ship yard action. I went upstairs to my old office. I do miss the view. A lot more exciting than the one downstairs. I do not miss all the bullshitting though!

A lot of rain fell today. There was an enormous puddle on my way back. Kinda like a small lake had formed.

This sign says: Park your bicycle in the square.

Does it work? No!

In the evening I met with Marjolein, Mic and Gerrit in Mulligans for a new years toast. We wished people lots of health and happiness and strength. I hope it worked. Alex was there as well.

The four of us went to the new Wagamama.

I discovered a new, awesome dish called chicken donburi. It's the new No. 1.

Mic and I split this note in two a very long time ago (more than 12 years ago). The left half I keep and mic keeps the right half. It's in our wallets. It's from before the euro. It was s'posed to be emergency drinking money once.

The transporter

During lunch my shipyard neighbours were moving about some big shit.

It required a special truck to move it around.

Here's a small video of the vehicle.

Their little forklifts were wrestling with the monument I photographed a few days ago. God knows why because on my home I saw it was in exactly the same spot it was in before...

Electrics

SCH54 "Franziska" is lying next door for a bit of a face-lift.

This used to be the nose of a ship. It's been removed and made in to a monument. However, it looks shit and was treated accordingly. A while ago it was tipped over and after having been tipped over for nearly a year it was finally removed and taken to our neighbours.

I never knew it was a monument. Apparently it was erected early 90's...

The Swan family is still complete. Good to see :-)

I left work a bit early so I could buy some wire nuts. I took the power off and wanted to do this while it was still a bit light.

In the red circle are 2 black wires each coming out of it's own pipe. I noticed this and instantly got very happy because...

... outside at the back there are also 2 wires coming out of 1 pipe each! And I still needed to find a way to bring electricity to the back for when I'm going to build my shed! Looks like I've found a way now! :-)

The bar

The last few floats. It's funny seeing them come in to existence and then they disappear again.

Sylvester hanging on our bar. Pardon me, I mean reception desk of course. I brought cakes with me as a thank you for Sylvester, Sam and Cees because they helped me move office last week :-) The cakes went down very well.

Ocean Orc is back for more work. It's a big ship. Yeah.

My new phonebook was gracefully delivered at my doorstep. I feel like starting a riot about this myself...
