And now, we wait.

We didn't want to break the habit of visiting the Volkswagen dealer early Saturday morning so we drove down around 10AM. We ordered the car but we would let them know the colour later today or on Monday. We wanted to see a red one too so we could decide between black or red better.

The dealer has a red demo model on show in a few shopping malls that they will raffle off (tickets are $50 each and only 9000 tickets are available). This weekend it's in the mall next to the Central Market so we drove by to check it out. It's actually a very nice red and I like it better than black. Nicole likes black better still though. I dislike black less than Nicole dislikes red. I know, it's very complicated. We thought about it while doing some shopping at the Central market.

We went to the deli to get some Dutch stuff.

Our friend Danny seems to have issues finding a certain bean that's called 'kapucijners' in Dutch. We got plenty overhere... Should we send some down? (Or is that up?)

There is a stand that specialises in roo-meat. We got Karin some roo.

By then we had decided on the car; black. We called the decision through, paid a $1000 deposit and now we wait 4-5 months for the factory in Mexico to produce one and ship it over...

This is my loot from the deli: Chocolate flakes for on bread, crisp-bakes to make meatballs with and 'kruidnoten' which I can't be arsed to translate.

We received word from Richard that he had 'heaps of meat' to get rid of and he needed help. He really is the BBQ master. My steaks are always perfectly well done.

Max the beagle kept a close watch on all ongoing activities.

Happy

Guess who pulled up next to us on the way to work? And he didn't even notice. After all our car is only bright red...

This was today's lunch-friend.

The fountain was on again.

The Christmas tree is still being decorated.

After work I sat on a bench on the outside of Victoria Square while waiting for Nicole. This is the view straight ahead.

View to the right, where Nicole will pull-up.

View to the left, towards the Christmas tree.

I was happy the weekend started. Does it show?

At least Nicole looked happy. Unfortunately I had accidentally put my phone in "Russian 0.5 mega pixel" mode so this and the next photo (and a whole bunch I deleted) look crap.

The beach was beautiful again. I gotta have fresh air after a week in the office.

Microwave food

I had lunch next to the church. This is opposite. If you look up in the right direction and forget what's around you, you could think you're in an old roman city.

I saw these little people statues. Kinda cool.

I couldn't lunch without getting a Christmas tree update. They're still decorating...

When I walked to Nicole after work it was raining. It was nice and quiet in the park.

All the birds were just sitting around, not doing anything but just sitting, waiting for the rain to end.

At home I nuked myself a microwave meal. The picture shows at least 12 strips of meat. I think I found 4, maybe 5. It didn't taste too bad though and it was a nice sized portion too.

The rainbow

The Christmas tree was decorated for one third today. Going well guys!

I saw a very flat rainbow. I think it's god saying it's all OK again after he has punished people by having them lunch at Burger King (that's where it was in front of).

After work I drove to lawn bowl by bus and took a few shots at the stops.

In front of a university building I believe.

In front of the hospital.

Our opponents didn't show up tonight which resulted in an instant win. We split up our team and played two versus two.

Gavin and I were behind by 4-19 before the break. After the break we had a miracle come back and won by one point: 23-22. It was very exciting.

How do you decorate your christmas tree?

The doves might be re-using their nest. This morning we saw them checking it out again. If I were them, I would choose another place that is not covered by a 3 cm thick layer of shit. But that's just me of course. I have bad taste.

They were decorating the christmas tree at Victoria square today. Quite an ordeal.

I saw a red New Beetle! It actually looked pretty alright at first and very good after it came around. For some reason, the red New Beetle changes shades of red depending on the lighting. I don't know if this is with all red cars or just with this one. This explains why all the photo's you find show so many shades of red...

I have to cross this road when I walk to Nicole. It's so wide that you need two traffic lights to get across.

On the way home we took the car for a wash.

And done, well, one way.

I bought some new guitar strings when I left work.

I have to put them on my little western guitar.

It's spelled CHRISTMAS, not XMAS!

Lunchtime! They were cleaning the fountain again. It really does get cleaned incredibly often. A bit ridiculous if you ask me...

They were setting up the gigantic CHRISTmas tree at Victoria Square today and probably another day. More and more places are putting up signs with the word 'xmas' on it. WTF? I know it's nothing new but the more I see it the more it's annoying me. Can't we just write 'Christmas' anymore?

Cider after work. A nice pint to accompany a nice meal.

Lachlan's second birthday

We were invited to Lachlan's second birthday today. Not that he actually knows what that is but that's alright ;-) We bought him a nice book with named pictures in different shapes that you can remove and put back. In the picture are Stephen, Lachlan and Caroline.

It must've been a kids paradise. Lachlan surely had a great time climbing on all the equipment. I think he'll sleep very nice tonight.

We sat at a long table outside. There was another table inside.

Lachlan today learned how to blow out candles, which was funny.

Afterwards, on the way home we drove past the Volkswagen dealer. I wanted to see if they had any red cars on display. This is the black model that will take 3 to 5 months if we order it. They only had a red VW Golf and the red was OK. If they have a red Beetle with beige interior in the country then we may go for that. We'll see. First they have to accept our latest offer.

When we came home Mason took me for a walk.

We saw Caesar again who was told to stay away from the fence by his owner because the fence was being painted.
