The Uleybury winery again

We went to the bakery in the morning to get some fresh bread rolls.

I invited Karin and Gavin to come to the Uleybury winery with us.

It was a beautiful day to go there. You wouldn't say winter starts tomorrow, would you? If you check out the blog of our previous visit you can see that it's a lot greener now.

This is the wine cellar or cellar door as they call it some times.

We didn't come here for the wine only. On the weekend they prepare fantastic quality food. These are our starters. A platter of fine Italian meat and some herb bread.

This was my main course:
Costoletta Di Agnello - Char-grilled lamb cutlets marinated in lemon, garlic, rosemary & extra virgin olive oil.

Gavin, Karin and Nicole had pizza.

The girl in black (Jasmin) served us today and actually (except for one letter) remembered my name! I must have left a good impression last time. The girl in the 20's outfit usually works there as well but she was going to a 1920's wedding. Her outfit was excellent-o.

They are very nice girls and at the end of our lunch (which was also the end of Jasmin's shift) they came to have a glass of wine with us. Good company and excellent food, it was a very well spent afternoon and I'm already looking forward to coming here again.

The drive home took us through the Adelaide hills a bit.

Nicole needed some lemons which I picked for her.

She's baking three cakes for tomorrow's cake and coffee meeting with a few friends.

Iron man

While driving to work we saw protesters. I think they were protesting against high petrol prices and/or petrol usage in general. Either way, they were doing the good thing by walking circles all day and not using petrol. They have been breathing a lot of unhealthy air though...

At my work I checked out source code for a new project I'm going to do. A step up from VS2003 to VS2005 now.

It was time for the monthly company lunch today. We walked about 10 minutes to get to Goucher street.

Very nice and this time we went to a Thai place called "Lime & lemon". Lovely food and definitely worth coming again.

Walking back I snapped some pictures. This is looking towards the old post office I believe (the tower).

This is the fountain on Victoria square. (Yes! 1 more day and it's officially winter. Can you tell yet?)

After Nicole picked me up we went to see the movie "Iron man". Very entertaining.

Winter soon...

I went here for lunch. Their baguettes are nice.

This building was opposite where I sat down for lunch.

Winter officially starts in 2 days, can you tell?

After lunch I went to Harvey Norman in the City Cross (CX) to buy a cable to connect my speakers to my computer. The food court was full.

This is the cable.

The way to work

Driving on Main North Road towards the city.

Got myself a nice front row seat.

Approaching the Scotties Motel where we turn half right.

Crossing Fitzroy terrace towards the paddocks.

Driving next to the paddocks arriving at the merge point of Main North Road and Prospect Road.

After the merge it's called O'Connell street.

Keep on swimming, keep on swimming...

At the end the road changes name to King William Road and we take the curve to the left...

... and a turn to the right.

Letting people out next to the women's and children's hospital.

Taking off from the hospital we drive towards St. Peter's cathedral.

Aiming straight for town we pass the first lights.

Past the bus stops.

Coming up to the lights where the city begins.

Across the lights the road is called King William Street and I get off at the first stop before Rundle mall.

There goes my bus and I start walking.

We turn left into Rundle mall which is very empty around 7:30 in the morning.

Walk towards the entrance of the CX (City Cross mall/food court)

Turn right into the CX.

At the end of the corridor the food court starts where we go left a bit...

... and right again. There is nobody here except...

Doughnut bakers!

This doughnut bakery is fantastic. I could die there as long as I smell doughnuts. All the bakers were asian people, funny.

Walk past the doughnut place, out of the exit and turn left on to the side walk outside again.

Enter out office building.

Left on to the stairs.

And all this to sit at the smallest desk in the world!

For lunch I went to the soup nazi. They're actually called "Leaf & ladle" and they make excellent soup. I had Minestrone today.

This was my view during lunch, it's quite nice staring outside.
