Uni-day 2011

Today I joined Marjolein and her mom to Marjolein's uni-day 2011. I skipped the morning program and met them at the entrance of the Hortus Botanicus where they went in the morning.

We then had lunch on a canal-boat which was nice.

In the lobby of the Oudemanspoort uni building before the lectures started.

First lecture was about the organisation for BIG history. It's a new science that looks at history on a BIG time scale being from the start of the universe till now. I have forgotten why this was interesting except that I thought it was about the big bang theory but it was from the big bang till now...

Then there were drinks.

And another lecture. This one was about how the Amazon region in South America came in to existence. Much more interesting than the previous lecture.

More drinks...

Time for some food! We went to Motimahal at the Nieuwezijds voorburgwal. Good place!

And then there was the UvA orkest orchestra. 2 pieces from Mahler and 1 from Brahms. I enjoyed it very much.

The cow

I got a postcards from my folks who are on vacation.

I heated up yesterdays leftovers from yesterday: Chicken korma and saag paneer. Very nice!

While watching Star Trek a cow appeared on my wall...

The hidden art

I went to the doctor this morning and found that there was hidden art in front of it in the bushes! I actually like it a lot.

Late arvo I had to go to the dentist but I was way early so I went to the fountain since that is close.

It rained a lot while I was there.

When I came home early evening I thought I'd do a tiny bit of DIY.

I put shelves up. Ugly but very effective shelves.

There were no malfunctions today so it was a smooth ride again.
