Star Trek Beyond / A place beyond believe

I set out to meet Danny and Gerrit to go to the movies. So I parked my car at the NDSM and walked to the ferry. I used to walk here all the time when I still worked in this area but I haven't since Christmas. The building they were still working on back then is now nearly finished and looking great.

In town the gay pride was in full swing. We kinda forgot about that...

Tons of people were out and about.

After a nice Indian dinner we made it to the movies and watched "Star Trek Beyond". It was cool, like the other Star Trek movies.

I took the ferry back home.

The welcome-text.

The Ocean Diva "Futura"

Queens day remains...

Till next year!

My colleague Tanja sold her house and she brought cakes to celebrate. LIKE!

The Ocean Diva "Futura" is docked next to my work. When I saw it passing the other week I thought it had a somewhat familiar look from the side... It's designed after an Excelsior class starship from the TV series Star Trek. More info on the Excelsior class ships can be found here.

I'm not sure if this guy was told how to fish. I did see him/her try to catch a passing bumble bee though!

George on Star trek!

Surprise! Surprise! It's George! On Star trek! Quote from Wikipedia: "Alexander appeared on Star Trek: Voyager on the episode "Think Tank" playing a genius alien named Kurros who was trying to get Seven of Nine to serve on his ship". Needless to say this was a mighty fine episode :-)

I then started crafting a piece of wood to use as a holder for my new outside sensor light. It sits in a corner so I had to be a little bit creative with the positions of the screws.

In the end everything fit perfectly.

The Borg Queen!

This morning, Seven met...

... the Borg queen!

In the evening Marjolein and I met up with Gerrit for dinner. The jumbotron at Rembrandtplein was OFF! Lovely :-)

Gerrit, Marjolein, Nantko and Dick in Mulligans. We attended the second night of "Le chat mort" because we liked it so much yesterday. It turned in to a very good evening.

Seven of nine is back!

My squash colleague Paul had his birthday on Saturday and brought some home-made cakes to work.

A cake tree! Wish I had one of my own...

Mail was delivered for me at work. I wonder what would be in it!

The weather was shit, as it happens in this country...

The package contained series 4 of Star Trek Voyager! YAY! 7of9! 7of9! 7of9! :-)

Welcome in 2010!

I watched an old Star Trek movie on dvd. Well, I tried. I fell asleep after 30 minutes and went to bed... It's been a most lazy and relaxing day. Good stuff.

Happy new year to you :-)

The last Star Trek.

First thing on my to-do list today was to enlist with a doctor again. Especially since i am not feeling well these days. I have a bit of a throat issue. It's not getting worse really but it's also not improving. Although I think the fever is coming down slightly. I had more hot flushes yesterday.

Anyway, I took this photo for the second last paragraph which tells you to STAY AT HOME WHEN YOU ARE SICK! I have had many colleagues who think it's great to go to work and infect all their co-workers. I can't stand that shit.

Then I was off to the supermarket. Hey ho!

I scored a nice little bonus; the newest Star Trek movie on dvd. Now I just need to unpack my TV...

And heaven was close today. I found a hardware store even closer than the supermarket. Tools, power tools, electronics, wood, oh.... mmmmmh. Pity they don't sell milk.

The weather was just gorgeous darling, just gorgeous. Not.

I bought chocolates coz I felt crap and needed it. Period. They made me happy.

I then watched the final episode of the last season of Star Trek The Next Generation.

Geordy could see (but only in one of the time lines of course ;-).

Data was a professor at Cambridge.

And Picard was an old man.

Afterwards the weather had only gotten worse.

I found this special edition two Euro coin today. One for my treasure chest.

Shopping and cooking

I woke up to the sounds of my upstairs neighbour's girlfriend having a pretty good time... It was the end of my sleep.

My food supply was running low so I walked to the shops. There was a little bird swimming in the dark, cold water.

Choices, choices. I picked Chicken Siam.

Todays bounty. It included green grapes.

And then it was already time for lunch which involved another Star Trek episode.

Later afternoon I walked to the Kinkerstraat to get some more things. I saw dead chickens.

I had reason to celebrate today so I bought myself a "Tom pouce".

I prepared some food for the next days. Veggie soup, meatballs en rice with chicken siam. The meatballs are a bit on the crispy side but OK. The siam was nice.

Grass is fixed.

I watched a very funny Star Trek episode.

Mason is with us today and the weekend.

It's very hard posing for the camera.

I seem to have forgotten a certain grass straw yesterday.

It's all good now.

Ready to rock and roll in one of Adelaide's fancier restaurants.

We went to the Red Ochre Restaurant. It was fantastic. There was beetroot carpaccio, kangaroo, salad, grilled barramundi, freshly baked bread and also a chocolate fondant. It was all sensational.

Mason was happy to see us again...
