Visiting Raymond & Joyce

After a good and long sleep Corinne and I went out for breakfast. We had a few hours before she had to catch her train back home and going out for breakfast is just an incredibly relaxing way to start the day.

This was my breakfast. Awesome! Bit much though ;-)

After dropping Cori off I took a train to see Raymond and Joyce. I see them only a few times a year but it's always fun! It's funny how effortless you can stay in touch with certain people. I've known them for ehmm.. 15 years now? Shees I'm getting old ;-)

This is their dog Amor. She's a doll. And very well behaved as well, for a girl ;-)

Raymond showed me a cooking device I hadn't seen before. This is to smoke your salmon in. It cooks the salmon as well but not very hot. You put some wood shavings in the bottom and it makes smoke. Was very nice! And I learned about a new cooking tool :-)

I brought a bottle of pink champagne with me.

All professional... ;-)

When I got back at Central Station they were just putting up this year's Christmas tree. It looks like somebody took a bite out of it!

Raymond and Joyce

I finished the pies in the morning so they'd be solid when I'd take them to Ray and Joyce.

This picture was in Volkskrant magazine. I couldn't stop laughing. It says: "So, what it comes down to, is that your mommy is basically a bit of a slut". "Okay...". "Clear..."

Raymond and Joyce. it was very nice to see them again. We made a cheese fondue, it was my first time ever.

Back at Central Station, waiting for my ride home.

Some poor fella got hit by a tram. Not very cool but it wouldn't surprise me if he cycled through a red light and had no light on his bike... I wonder.

Visiting Raymond and Joyce

I bought a few mini spring forms for baking today from the voucher I got from work for my birthday. Now I can make mini cakes :-)

The public transport in Amsterdam was on strike today. Took a taxi to the station. 1 day no trams and the rails start to get rusty...

The station. I was meeting Marjolein here to go see Raymond and Joyce.

We went for a walk. With all the fog of lately it was very pretty.

More people do walk their dogs on a Sunday arvo so it wasn't too hard to find a play mate for Amor. This was another very cute pup.

On the way home we had a sit and a coffee at the station which was nice.

Waiting for Marjolein's train the for became really thick.

I walked home since there still was no public transport and made a load of pictures.

The RayJoy edition.

Raymond and Joyce visited today! It was very nice seeing them again. I studied with Ray and we're still in touch which is actually really nice :-) (I made them pose for the photo btw)

They brought me an awesome gift! It's one of these things that you can take apart but then have a hell of a time with to put it back together.

My raptor has now grown waist high. 8 days to go.

The Raymond & Joyce visit

Raymond and Joyce came to visit me!

They are still the lovely people they've always been. It was a very nice visit.

They brought me presents! Very useful presents too. I like a lot :-)

Orchid update for my mom!

The cleaners are on strike. Street cleaners this time...

In the evening I went out. Kees arriving at Mulligans.

There was a pretty good bluegrass band playing at the pub. There were good friends and we had a lovely time.

It was late when I left. I walked home.

A crane was taking apart bits of the Giro d'Italia.
