Recently I discovered Waldo, Wally in Dutch. I'm sure you'll recognise this book as I am one of the last people on earth to hear about this fella and his crew. It might be nice to take with me on vacation :-)
Silver keeps on exploring and is becoming more and more confident. This looked funny :-)

The unit.
So for some years I've been dreaming of my own shop (work space). I was s'posed to get one in Australia where there is sooo much room but that didn't happen. Today I came across this storage unit that can also be used as a work place for private use. If I ever get a shot at owning one myself, this is it, I can feel it.
So... this garage (one of these doors) is brand new and real cheap for what you get. I would be the first owner. Let's have a look :-)
This is the meter box in another garage, just for reference because mine doesn't have a meter yet.
That's the meter box in the unit I looked at. Pretty empty still. No worries for now since the days are pretty long here ;-)
There's also fresh water coming in, amongst other things.
There's a sewer connection.
The space is BIG. It's just as wide as my current garage but it's twice as long and 3 times as high. (3 floors actually)
View towards the back.
Left side.
Right side.
The door opens straight up, nice.
Meter box.
Meter box.
Ceiling. Problem: How do I replace a light tube as they are 8 meters up? ;-)
Thickness of the walls.
The "street".
Front of the building.
It was great and now I'm going to look for a way to finance this gem...
Back at the ranch Silver was trying to hunt down a pigeon. Now, if there's one thing he will never be able to do it is hunting because he constantly chatters from over-excitement. I could hear it 2 gardens away so I think the pigeon had a bit of a clue as to what was going on ;-)

The garage
Sometimes I look for opportunities to guy my own garage. Today I looked at "business"properties that could also be used for private use and I found this one. Looked OK so I wanted to go see it for real.
Obviously the photo they used was from when it was new about 10 years ago. I had a bad feeling about the place. It was quite remote and I felt it was a good place to break in to. So I'm skipping this one. Maybe I'll find something else...
Larissa and Simone made little cupcakes to hand out tomorrow at Larissa's internship since it's her birthday tomorrow. A lot of little kids will get very happy I reckon ;-)

The baby birds
There are little baby birds everywhere now. I like :-)
Silver spends a BIG part of the day outside nowadays which makes him pretty tired in the evening. He still falls asleep in the most awesome positions :-)

The zoo
Today we went to the zoo called "Hoenderdaell" which is close to Den Helder, an hours drive up North from us. I'd never been there and it's not an area where one would expect a zoo because it's mostly flat grass. The only animals we see in this area usually are cows...
So here are some photos of a lovely day in the zoo:
These guys went out on an adventure by themselves but got caught... Now they were being directed towards their habitat...
Their other friends were already waiting for them to return ;-)
The Makis were the best attraction. We went to them during feeding time twice. Some of them had little baby makis with them.
During feeding they like to see from above to look for food. I was a perfect lookout point for them ;-)
And when they see food they are gone, jumping from shoulder to shoulder.
The zoo is also a sanctuary for lots of animals like the bears from a few photos back but also for lions, tigers and panthers. The zoo buys them from circusses that do now want them anymore. Great cause I think.
When we got home I had a not so fun job to do: photographing the damage that was caused by someone opening the door when we were passing looking for a park at the zoo.
There's damage on the window rubber from the mirror being squashed against it.
Damage on the mirror's base.
The worst part is that the folding mechanism now folds in the mirror too much, hitting the already damaged rubber every time.
This is how the damaged mirror folds in...
This is how the other one folds in which is how it should.
