The mess

There's a problem with the drain of Simone's house. It's totally clogged up. She had the city water guys check things out and they shoved a camera down "some"drain and then told us it was on our own turf and they saw a "crack". Then they put a big yellow dot on the street and so this morning we started digging. Underneath the yellow dot we found a big fucking Y-junction! No crack! They saw the opening of the bloody junction from the inside. And that's not all. They were inside the rainwater drain. Not the sewage pipe! We found the sewage pipe hiding next to it! Idiots...

We left it for a neighbour to look at (he seems to knows plumbing).

Hiding

Friday night. I went to Simone's after work. It was a very, very slow day. The sun was hiding behind the clouds.

Blue fingertips in the spring...

When I go to the loo at work, I got 4 deer staring at me now. Why?! It's like they're saying "Why don't you put that thing back where it came from?". Maybe I'll punch them. Or draw moustaches...

After work I went to the supermarket. It rained and it's cold. But it's not freezing or anything. Nevertheless my fingertips turned blue from the cold :-(

I made salmon and alad for dinner. It tasted very nice!

The brewmaster

Cleaners in Holland are on strike nation wide. It's getting pretty messy...

My colleague Geert brought home-brew to work about a month ago but I couldn't drink it then due to my diet. Today we caught up! That beer litterally had my name on it :-)

Brew-master Geert. It was actually quite a nice beer. Not too light, plenty of bubbles and a tiny bit on the dark side. Well done!

Sweeping debris

A guy was cleaning up a bit but it looked like he used the broom to make that whole pile. I thought it was very funny :-)

Liberation day

On Saturday we dropped my stuff off at my house. Mama duswriter couldn't resist.

And everything mama does, her little dustwriting son does too now ;-)

I bought this little souvenir on the isle of Murano when we were in Venice. I like it a lot. I like the colours and I like its simplicity.

I had to work again today. They had taken down all of the CityBox remains while I was gone. I'm glad it's taken down completely now. Had to look at that ugly shit for over 4 years...

Trams are driving around with little flags today because apparently we are celebrating liberation day. But we don't get a fucking day off so I seriously don't feel much like celebrating. I just felt tired...

Remembrance day

Sunday morning. Lazy morning. Fish watching morning.

I bought a new key-ring in Italy to replace my other key-ring I received as a gift a long time ago. I got some damn good milage out of that one! I hope this new one will be just as good for me...

After spending the day with Simone and her kids I went in to town to Dam square to join the 4th of May remembrance service. Our King and Queen attended as well. There is a 2 minute silence at 20:00 to remember all of those who fell during the second world war while fighting for our freedom.

The palace.

King Wim-Lex and Queen Maxima entering the square from their palace. For non-Dutch readers: They do not actually live there.

After the ceremony I walked back to my house along the beautiful Amsterdam canals.

The Wester church.

Yellow roses.
