The club

First thing: Shopping. Photographed the meat section. Dunno why, looked impressive. Maybe coz the night before I saw how to make carpachio and it seemed really easy and VERY try-able.

I have to cut a wide piece of PVC pipe and I dunno quite how. So I wanted to try and use the big cutter that we have here.

It was the first time I used it so it was strange and scary, I was being very carefull. Cutting was off. It turns out that the blade is not fixed on a exact 90 degree angle...

In the evening we went to the Croatian club to have dinner. It was quite busy.

Mira came to say hello.

Karin and Vicky were cooking.

Tony was working the bar.

Outside it was pretty warm but some brave hearts were still playing croatian "jeu de boules".

This is the main building.

Tassie crushed

We had a really nice cool night, I slept fantastic for 9 long hours without waking up (I think) and around 11 o'clock it was 25C. Exactly how we like it.

Then after breakfast it was off to run some errands including a trip to the postoffice.

I tried a new applejuice that I now quite like. It's from Tasmania and it's coldpressed. I don't understand why that it special but it sure tastes good!

This is a photo of the entrance of our flat.

The new blinds

Look, it's a road!

We were told about this awesome super huge mall with almost only supercheap outlets for big brands. Everybody seems to love this place.

It sucked.

Lala (from the Teletubbies) was driving alongside. (Really it was 2 bimbo's with a sense of humour)

We park here a lot when going to Rundle mall.

Rundle mall towards Rundle street.

Rundle mall in the other direction.

Stairway to.... Radio Rentals!

I put up some blinds today to replace the curtain with. I must say that I did a rather good job!

We have 3 fridge magnets already. AZ!

Guestblogger ILSE send me this photo of the line-up infront of the "oliebollenkraam" in the mall close to my parents. This is crazy. Aparently he's very good but man, they can never bake em fast enough to serve these people hehe

Happy newyear!

I wish all the readers of my blog a very happy and healthy 2008!

Instead of posting pictures of today I have made 19 posts about my highlights of 2007. You can view them by clicking on the appropriate link on the right. I enjoyed viewing the 2007 photo's very much, I hope you will too.

Tomorrow there will be a "normal" blog again! :-)

2007 wrap-up: Australia

Life in Australia is now slowly starting to take shape. We're not tourists anymore and are now eager for our stuff to arrive so we can slowly start to look for work etc.

I am superhappy with the photo that Ilse and Cassie gave us of them and my parents. It's infront of me whenever I sit behind my computer and we all know; that's a lot!

2007 wrap-up: Perth (B&M)

About 2 years ago our almost neighbours (they lived around the corner) Birgitte and Maurice moved to Australia as well. They live in Perth now and have managed really well. They have a cute little house and a car and both work nice jobs.

Perth is a nice city with lovely beaches and Birgitte and Maurice showed us around everywhere. It was fantastic to see them again and we enjoyed our stay very much.

2007 wrap-up: Malaysia

And then we took off. To our great surprise our friend Mary came to say goodbye to us at the airport in her KLM outfit, supersweet of her. She's amazing.

In Kuala Lumpur we stayed in a hotel for 3 nights and for the first time in months we felt relaxed again and without obligations. It was the second time we were in KL and we just adore the Petronas towers.

2007 wrap-up: The last Dutch days

The last week before we left was very chaotic and busy. We slept in our old apartment untill the last day. On the day we sold, my mum came to pick up the last things. Also we had drinks with colleagues and some of my family came over for a last chat while we were at my mums and dads.

Also we visited Suzanne and Alex for a wonderfull afternoon and evening. And I couldn't leave without saying bye to Wil, the owner of a frie-stand I used to go to when I started living in Amsterdam.

2007 wrap-up: The farewell drink

Before we left to Australia we organised farewell drinks in Mulligans, the pub I hung out at for the last 15 years. More people and family showed up than I thought and we had a great time. If there would be only 1 reason for me to have stayed in Amsterdam it's for the people you see in this blogpost (and some you don't see unfortunately). I will miss Mulligans and my friends and family a fair bit but you can't get unstuck from your place without cutting the ties...
