The blur

This is our temporary blogging facility. My mother's modem never had to pump this much data this fast.

The view from our temporary bedroom at my parent's place. It's very nice to wake up and see the tree, I like it.

We trained to Haarlem to see our friends Suzanne and Alex. This was our train.

Nicole went shoe-shopping.

Suzanne in romantic candle light.

My right eye kind of exploded on the way home due to an ellergic reaction to cats. This is what the navigation in the car home looked like... Alex was very kind to drive us home.

The Wagamama

In all it's glory, autumn has kicked in hard.
The G lunching away at Wagamama.
Nicole and Suzanne having their photo taken with Cameo "Word up". This wonderfull man's real name is actually Placido and he's a supercool and friendly waiter at an excellent NON SMOKING asian lunchplace called Wagamama on the Max Euweplein in Amsterdam.

The leave

The rubbish people came early to pick up our stuff.
The last evidence of our presence there hanging above the abyss.
The statue of Berlage, the architect of a lot of buildings in our old neighbourhood.
Opposite of Mulligans. A nice row of typical Amsterdam houses.
Jon and Alie during a very nice dinner that Alie cooked us.
Romantic lighting in the train that brought us to Alkmaar late at night. We were exhausted.

The (incredibly tired) last night

Today we cleaned out the place as we're handing over the keys tomorrow. It was a lot of work and on top of everything the notary informed us that he was missing €10.000 which we now have to get there asap because Aegon has their heads up their asses... It's going to be fine but we just don't need that extra bit of bullshit.

While putting stuff outside for the rubbishpeople tomorrow, homebound traffic was all over our stuff. The bed was gone within 10 minutes. The bedside tables in 5! The green chair in 15...

We said farewell to the people in the Italian restaurant "I trulli" where we've been going almost weekly for the past 5 years. We brought them flowers and they gave us a really funky card and the whole dinner was on the house! They've always been good people.

Then we went to Alie to drop of more freebees. She was very happy with them.

Today's pictures:

MY suitcase filled to the brim.

My dad carrying stuff out.

My mom waiting for my dad carrying stuff out.

Nicole waiting for who knows...

Our bed tonight. It is really empty now.

The Mic

I like my new blog :-)

My colleagues gave me this snorkelset yesterday as a farewell present. I am SUPER PLEASED with it. Thanks guys!

On our way to see my longtime friend Mic, his wife Mickey and their son Yaan.

There he is: Mic.

And there she is: Mickey.

On the way back there were 2 beautifull swans.

They live kinda out of the city so the GVB had to drive us back into civilization. However, there's not much civilization to be found in the center of the city, but let's not get into that right now ;-P

Later in the evening Gerrit dropped by to relieve us from a few things that still haven't been picked up.

Nicole waving tiredly.

Pooped...

The last working day

My desk at the start of my last day at work. It's like my cockpit. I worked at Furore for exactly 6 years. "Good times, Terry, good times".

My good colleagues and project-partners in crime; Aafke and Sami in their natural habitat.

The girl who's been paying my salary for the past 6 years: Janice.

Sebastiaan posing infront of the coffeemachine. That pose worked out rather well I reckon.

It's a tiny packet of fun: Patricia.

Maarten is a guy who could possibly bullshit a brick into gold. It's quite a quality I must admit ;-)

At the end of the day I had to bid farewell to my faithfull slippers that I walked around in for the past 6 years. I never like to wear shoes all day long. Also they kinda make me feel at home.

After work Nicole and I went to Mulligans for our usual rounds of mondaynight "I can't believe the bloody week started again" drinks. Even the candle grins at me for some reason...

This pub's been my home away from home for ehm.. I think about 13 years now. It's the most genuine Irish pub you'll find anywhere in Amsterdam. I'll surely miss it.
