Sitting outfront

Vicky and Tony (Nicole's mom and dad) are in town. I met up with them together with my family. It was nice to catch up a bit.

Afterwards I walked in to town. I took old bread for the birds.

I went to this camera shop first to look for a tele lens for my Sony NEX camera but they didn't have it in stock and on top of that that charge 100 euros more than when you buy it online. I don't think so...

It was close to Mulligans so I went down for 1 pint.

1 pint turned in to 2 pints after I put a stool out at the front. Instant action.

Not all the action is good for you though...

I had my Sony camera with me so I made some pictures while sitting outside.

Alex, another regular, likes to sit in the sun and drink a few wines and read.

It was warm and lots of people sat at the water underneath the trees.

On my home I heard screaming and a group of girls was having fun with water bikes.

The grebes

Baby grebe (nl: fuut) imitating mommy grebe looking for food.

Fishy!

In the evening I had dinner with my friend Eva at Cafe Wildschut. It was very nice seeing her again.

My plastic shed!

I worked from home this morning, waiting for a delivery. The transport company sent me updates about the arrival time on my phone. Haven't seen that before, impressive!

And indeed, shortly after 10 my little parcel was delivered: A shed.

I took the afternoon off and an explosion of shed-parts occurred.

Empty...

Full!

I built my plastic shed in 3 hours. I'm very happy with it :-)

Meet Hacker

This big little guy is Hacker. It's my boss' dog. I can't remember the breed but he's beautiful.

Hacker likes biting in things including hands that want to pet him. He's still got his razor sharp baby teeth though so I gave up after a few tries. He was also very interested in my lunch hehe.

Colleagues were getting instructions on how to put out a fire.

After a boiling hot tram ride home I went to the supermarket. The line-up was huge. I wonder if that's because it was cool inside...

Another rose popped open.

And I just wanna say how great it is to cook with these pans. Potatoes boiling at the bottom, green beans steaming in the top. Awesome.

The Red Hot Chilli Pipers

On my way to work I saw this happy family.

And on my way back home I saw them again but in a different spot.

In the evening I met Marjolein to see the Red Hot Chilli Pipers in Amstelveen. It's a "bagrock" band. Their lead instruments are bagpipes!

Bit of flute action.

Their guitar player is a bit of an animal but he plays very well.

They also do a fairly nice bit of percussion.

Was fun to see them again. I hope they will have updated their repertoire a bit next time I'll see them though.

The dinner

I was a bit early for the ferry so I sat next to the water a bit. There was a ducky keeping my company. Well, not really, it was having dinner there...

The Holland-America line sailed past.

After work I met up with Kees, Danny and Jud. Jud piloted a flight from the USA to Amsterdam and had an evening to spend with friends here. I imagine he's got a lot of friends in different places.

I walked home.

The cow

Yesterday Ruud and Laurien brought me this gift. Yum yum!

Today there was a cow on my wall...
